So, just the other day, I shamefully but accidentally betrayed everything I believed and stood for (shame on me!! ) Anyway, I realized I didn't have my Chrono dose for a while, so I said:

-"Hey, me, let's replay Chrono Trigger again!"

-"Okay, I'm in summer therefore I'm bored and not busy "

-"Wait, why don't you play Chrono Cross instead for a change?"

-"But you hated it"

-"But have a different focus, don't look at it as the Chrono Trigger sequel, look at it from a different IP angle"

And so I did.

By playing it, I ignored many of the stuff that made me hate it and played it like another different game, it's better than I remembered, but still not on par with Trigger.

I actually could give a long list on how Trigger was better and the CC story holes, but it's up to you. (or to counter, as a matter of fact)

So, in your opinion, which game was better and stood the test of time?

Chrono Cross is a better game with improved game system and better history.

But Chrono Trigger is more epic maybe due better characters.

And Chrono Cross is related to Cross Trigger... there are references every time.

Chrono Trigger was awesome.

Chrono Cross was an utter disappointment.

I know that, and all those connections are what bugged me in the first place.

How many of the characters suddenly changed the way they were, how they just said "what you did was for bad, you should have let Lavos consume the world", how they just dramatically changed everything CT was and it's meaning were the stuff that dragged it down.

The music in chrono cross is absolutely amazing.

And the graphics.. gorgeous

And the characters... plentiful

and the story... compelling

and the mechanics... delightful

I really don't think I can see anything wrong with the game. I for sure can't see any reason to hate the game.

Chrono Trigger however you can take all of those qualities of chrono cross and say +1 So I guess it is a better game.

I guess Chrono Cross received another name all RPG lovers would love it... besides it be a disappointment.

Chrono Cross is a AWESOME game... better than Chrono Trigge in so much aspects.

CC just changed what you assumed that CT was... Lavos is not evil even in CT.

I know, Lavos was always a parasite that needed a world to feed itself, it was a process of nature

What I meant was that many of the characters personalities, like Belthasar, Lucca or Robo were changed to fit in CC.

Also, Chrono Trigger idea was to save the future, and in Chrono Cross they just toss that they caused suffering by doing so.

So are they saying it was better for everyone to die in a massive way than to save them even if they had everyday normal problems?

If CC was released now it would incredible but it was release during the prime of RPGs. It was GREAT, but CT is literally on eof the greatest games ever. Not many games can stand the test of time that it did. CT is definitely, undisputedly my choice,,,,but I loved my time with CC.

Chrono Cross is a great game, but Chrono Trigger is a superior game in every category. Chrono Trigger is my favorite RPG of all time.
