So, just the other day, I shamefully but accidentally betrayed everything I believed and stood for (shame on me!! 
) Anyway, I realized I didn't have my Chrono dose for a while, so I said:
-"Hey, me, let's replay Chrono Trigger again!"
-"Okay, I'm in summer therefore I'm bored and not busy 
"
-"Wait, why don't you play Chrono Cross instead for a change?"
-"But you hated it"
-"But have a different focus, don't look at it as the Chrono Trigger sequel, look at it from a different IP angle"
And so I did.
By playing it, I ignored many of the stuff that made me hate it and played it like another different game, it's better than I remembered, but still not on par with Trigger.
I actually could give a long list on how Trigger was better and the CC story holes, but it's up to you. (or to counter, as a matter of fact)
So, in your opinion, which game was better and stood the test of time?
