It is interesting that, if you look at people who post on sites like this, they get all excited when it is "10 year old posts" or old IP being brought up again. If a system lacks that, the complaints is that it lacks "hardcore" titles, or whatever. People got all excited here about how it had everyone signed up, and the 3DS was getting 3rd party support. |
I'm referring to N64 titles being 3D'd and re-released. Not gaining IPs that are commonly referrred to as "hardcore" titles. Instead of N64 games, they should be bringing out the new SMB and new Kid Icarus at launch... as well as popular AAA 3rd party games.
not sure but the next PSP better be phone capable through head set only.
this is so wrong a price-cut now what will happen next year ?
if sales decline what wil they do then ?
they should have made a price-cut of 50$ that would save them more money and more opportunities for other in the future price-cuts

A BIG part of this battle is neither Nintendo or Sony. It has to do with Android and also IOS stuff. If people are feeling compelled to get smart phones and tablets (I am seeing an increasing need for a tablet, due to my work on game design stuff to show people), then that becomes a platform to buy, and you get apps for it that entertain. If people feel they only need one portable device, then the 3DS and Vita will face issues. It ends up, it doesn't matter what Nintendo does with the price point, and both Sony and Nintendo both need to battle against the general portable device for play.

People were getting excited at IP that was at least 10 years old, from what I saw. People saw MGS3 and were all ooo and ahh about it. Same with the other stuff. That WAS the stuff people got excited about and considered it "hardcore". I see it hard for any new IP to be taken as placating any of the "hardcore" out there at all, particularly with the release of a new platform. I see stuff like Steel Diver getting panned. What gets considered "hardcore"? The old IP does.
The Vita is definitely going to have a harder time now that it isn't going to face a handheld of the same price range. I'm looking to get a 3DS now since I never picked up a DS.
Wonder if the people defending the Vita still think it will do better then the 3DS now that Vita has had its first delay into next year?
