I don't think they dropped it by too much, but it should've been $199 from the get go; then all of this could have been avoided and its sales would be much higher.

One great thing in the fallout of all of this is that I'm now pleasantly optimistic for the Wii U's price. Hopefully they've learned something and will launch it at $299 or lower.

Yeah, I think Nintendo sees the market differently.

For handhelds, they have the competition of cell phones and of the DS.... they have to make a sacrifice, that's the assured revenues on hardware.

For consoles... whatever they do, they will be cheaper than the competition (Sony and MS cannot just 1up their console, they have to make a real new gen.... though N will probably not be as far behind in power as this gen), but they might now be convinced that the market needs an agressive approach from the start. After all, the game is different even for consoles now, there are 3 of them surviving a gen, it used to be barely 2.

There even hooking up the early adopters, they could have said "thanks for the money, suckers" and went about there buisness. Bravo, Ninty Bravo

You, my friend, are on my harmony list. You say shit, but you give praise. I like ya.

If a company is doing something i think sucks, ill say it. If there doing something i think is fantastic, i'll say it. This is the latter.

He does, that's why he was praising them. I know he wasn't being sarcastic. And I was being totally truthful.

Sorry! I meant you, padib, don't know about the deal.

I should just shut up.

Perhaps i have no clue what you both are talking about.

OT:
I think a redesigned 3DS with better battery etc will launch at 199$.
It's obv, imo.

Wow I wasn't even considering getting one until Kingdom Hearts came out. This throws a big wrench into the mix. I still think that I will wait until there is a game I like as I am getting the Vita day 1. First Nintendo product to sell at a loss now for a LONG time. Craziness

PSN: Saugeen-Uwo     Feel free to add me (put Vg Chartz as MSG)!

Nintendo Network ID: Saugeen-Uwo

3DS is not the Gamecube. its part of a line with currently the third biggest selling console ever.

this should boost sales and continue the stream of revenue Nintendo is known for.

Yes, I still say that the price cut is not too high, because losing money is the language Nintendo understands the best.

?? Huh? Okay now I'm confused. I thought making money was the language Nintendo best understood, since that's what they been doing for the past console gens . . . correct me if I'm wrong .

If Nintendo loses money, then they'll realize that they are doing something wrong. In the past couple of years they were still making money, so they continued with their stupidity. Because if you make money, you apparently can't be doing anything wrong.

Exactly so now they are catching up to Sony and MS. they are getting smarter

baby steps

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

You're not saying Nintendo has ever done anything wrong, are you?
