Its called Purchasing Power Parity which is close to 1:1 between euro and dollar. In other words you can get almost as many goods for one dollar in the US as you can get for 1 Euro in Europe.

This is different if you make a vacation in the other country. But in the end the converted number is meaningless because what is important is the comparison between PS3 prices and Wii/360 prices and here you have the exact same relation as in the US.

And yes it means that Europeans get fucked but not from MS or Sony or Apple but from our governments.

Besides one thing you have to remember for example are VAT taxes which are not included in the american prices.

Europe will save PS3 from total embarassment, at least for the time being. Within a year, this could all change, as some good games are coming to the PS3 this year that could sell well in America, but for now, Europe is keeping PS3 above 360 (Within the margin of error [+/- 10%])

Yes and the US saves the 360 from the fate of the Dreamcast. Now MS has deep pockets, I doubt that a pricecut would suffice but they could buy some great exclusives. On the other hand the question is if MS wants to do that. Sooner or later their shareholders will ask what they are doing.

I think the Ps3 will be above the 360 comfortably, but not by a large margin. It's sales will go back up in march/april, when GT 5 Prologue, MGS 4, DualShock 3 and maybe GTA 4 come out. I would expect some bundle deals to be introduced then, possibly a new SKU with a dualshock
