Its called Purchasing Power Parity which is close to 1:1 between euro and dollar. In other words you can get almost as many goods for one dollar in the US as you can get for 1 Euro in Europe.

This is different if you make a vacation in the other country. But in the end the converted number is meaningless because what is important is the comparison between PS3 prices and Wii/360 prices and here you have the exact same relation as in the US.

And yes it means that Europeans get fucked but not from MS or Sony or Apple but from our governments.

Besides one thing you have to remember for example are VAT taxes which are not included in the american prices.
