I have just one problem with GT5 now.

I can't drive the endurance in A-Spec... I need some type of pause to drive 9 or 24 hours.

In B-Spec it's more easy because I just forget my pilots driving alone and go back after the time ends.

so about those cars you were talking about lending me....

:)

Three three most important cars in the game are:

Nissan GT-R: You can buy this car at level 13 or something for a little over 100,000 credits. Fully modified this is an 800HP beast for 250,000 credits. Although it's only 600PP or something, I This can has no problem racing against 800PP cars, no wonder with how much support Nissan gives PD.

Corvette ZR1: You can buy this car at level 19, and do racing modifications at level 21 (I think). With the modifications the price of this car will be like 650K. I believe I used this or the Nissan to win the Dream Car Cup. If you are having trouble keeping up with the 800HP race cars, increase your downforce to maximum settings, and change your gearing for more acceleration. It's initially set up for high speed, but on stock settings you will rarely use the final gear, so just tighten the gear ratio.

Formula Gran Turismo: You need this to beat a lot of the Extreme or Endurance Cup races. This is basically the fastest car in the game after that Red Bull Concept. You can buy it at the used car dealership for up to 5,000,000 credits. Yea it's a lot, but this will win you everything, and is a blast to drive. Prices go down based on the mileage on the engine, and you won't see the car in a used car dealership until you're level 25.

You can basically beat the entire game with those three cars. Other specialty cup races like German and Italian, you can use car you unlocked in B-Spec (price cars are more suited).

If there is any specific cup you have trouble on Message me. I know a lot about cars, so this stuff in GT5 comes naturally to me.

LOL I never bothered with that part of the game. I understand GT5 is a SIM, but 9-24 hours of racing is ridiculous! I can barely do the 1-2 hour endurance races.

this may be a very noobish question, even though i have put in over 60 hours into Gt5.

but for the bolded stuff, i have made modifications on my car like, decreasing its weight, changing exhaust, etc. but as far as i know i have never done a racing modification (i thnk there is atrophy for it, which i dont think i have). how do you do a racing mod?

also how do you/where do you go to increase downforce.

i dont know anything about engines and gears/ratios. so how do i change gearing for more aceleration? also what does tightening the gear ratio do? how do i do that?

yeah i probably sound like an idiot

Racing modifications are done in the same place you do oil changes and car washes. Unusual eh? It's a one stop modification, and it will actually change your cars name. My racing corvette ZR1 looks like this:

Except mine is white on black. Actually this is what it looks like in GT5:

To increase/decrease downforce you need an adjustable body kit or racing modification. To adjust it, go to your garage and select tune car instead of get in. You may have to view your car to see this option, I can't remember. It's not too hard to find.

When you are in the tune car menu, you can tune anything from tire pressure, to downforce, to gear ratios. A gear ratio is the size of the gear compared to it's final gear. For a 6 speed car like the corvette you will see a series of 6 numbers in transmission, when you tune. I believe there are optimization buttons so you can have the game auto optimize you car for acceleration or top speed. When you lower the gear ratio (or tighten it) you are just making those 6 numbers smaller. By doing so, your car will rev faster, and gear up sooner.

If you increase the gear ratio your car will take longer to fully rev, but when you reach max revs in a given gear you will be going at a higher speed. The way the corvette ZR1 is, you definatly want to tighten the gear ratio. I don't think there is a track in GT5 that is smooth enough for the Corvette to get to max speed with highest gear ratios.

This should be enough to win the Dream car cup without problems. Just fiddle around until you find settings that match you as a driver. If you still have trouble after maxing the downforce, and reducing the gear ratio. Try to increase the brake force (I usually have it at 120-130%, but that might be too high for you, try 110%). Also have the rear tire PSI a little higher then the front, this will help your front engine car corner. Don't do this in a rear wheel drive car.

These settings will cut 10 seconds off the Corvette ZR1 Race cars lap time on a 90 second lap track.

It's okay, I sounded like an Idiot for Killzone 3 remember?

Any other cup you're having trouble in?

That Toyota is no fun, I just stuck with the ZR1 most of the game.

To be honest, the best car in the game is the Pagani Zonda R. You win it in a B-Spec race (I think Dream Cup as well lol), and damn...you can't beat cornering in a mid engined superbeast like that, especially with GT5's engine.

This man nailed it with those two cars!

Those two are my most used and favorites!!!!

I too use my Corvette all the time and the GT-R is just sweet as to drive!
