Forums - Microsoft - X720: Console exclusives don't exist

then again I've always considered it exclusive by brand not by platform........ so to me what runs on windows or XBox is the same... an MS exclusive.....it'd be stupid for MS to sign a deal with a 3rd party for a game just for one of the 2 platfroms.... same goes for 1st party.... why limit your profit when you can have it on both and make more.... since an XB is a PC at the end of the day.... I don't see why it is so hard for gamers to get that idea accross..... I've never seen sony or nintendo limiting a franchise to one of their platform the only reason you don't have the same mario on Wii and DS is because of hardware limitation that's it... same goes for PSP and PS..... in the case of MS they can have the same on both why bother do two..... so yeah to me it is exclusive to MS regardless if it is on both PC and XB

MS makes no money on most pc exclusives, since it's an open system so what runs on PC and what runs on 360 are not the same esspecially once you factor in other OSes

After Halo 2 MS stopped putting it on PC.

Fair to say Halo will stay Xbox exclusive. It would be bad business now to multiplat a flagship franchise....even if it isnt available on Sonys consoles.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

what other OSes..... when was the last time you saw a big IP going to apple???? and linux doesn't count.... well they get royalties just by the fact that.... the PC runs their OS most likely that there is more than 80% chances that dirext X is used etc etc etc..... my point is valid whether anti MS people like it or not.... I'm not a fan of MS.... I run linux distributions on most of my rigs...... but a fact is a fact..... XB and PC running the same game is about as close than PSP and PS running the same IPs or DS and Wii.... it stays in the MS sphere which is what matters to MS, the investors and the economic results at the end of the year..... that it tickles the butthole of the players the wrong way is completely irrelevant

and I meant a game on XB that is on PC too is still considered MS exclusive if it's not on PS and or Wii.... the otherway around is less likely..... then again if it's on PC but not on XB it's probably not on Wii or PS either...... which makes it still more MS exclusive than anything else....

Why not? , the more cross platform games get the better.

I dont understand why they dont leverage their xbox live to their windows oses. Steam rocks their world, onlive is also coming their way. Ms cant just focus on x720 or can they?

No, in fact I see the opposite. Halo went from a console/PC franchise to a console only franchise. Alan Wake for PC was also canned, and Gears of War never saw a PC iteration after the first game. Microsoft also published a lot of 360 only franchises. Forza, Lost Odyssey, Splinter Cell Conviction, etc.

The only game that still has PC connections is Fable, and I bet you the next franchise by Peter Moo will be console exclusive.

Actually Halo debuted as a Mac game at Macworld in 1999.  Bungie were pretty big Mac and OpenGL supporters before MS bought them.
