Nintendo: 'No issues' with 3DS quality as Amazon sales resume
A shipping issue apparently triggered a brief hold on orders of the handheld
Nintendo has issued a statement explaining Amazon's move to temporarily suspend sales of the black 3DS in the States earlier this week.
The platform holder told us the decision was down to a shipping issue the retailer encountered, rather than any problems with the quality of the product, as had been rumoured.
Nintendo said: "An internal Amazon.com shipping issue triggered a brief hold on orders of Nintendo 3DS systems while the situation was reviewed, as is common in such matters. Amazon.com resolved the issue, and Nintendo 3DS orders have resumed.
"There are no issues with Nintendo 3DS inventory or quality. For additional information about this incident, please contact Amazon.com." We did, but the retailer hasn't provided an update.
Ahead of its launch in March, 3DS became the most pre-ordered games console in Amazon.co.uk's history, beating out PS3 and Wii.
