Forums - Gaming - Where are the sequels to these superhero games??

Hulk Ultimate Destruction: Still the best open world superhero game of all time (sorry infamous), but instead of a sequel we get prototype. Why?? What is wrong with the folks at activision? Did they lose the licence?

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: The best movie-tie in superhero game ever. Much better than the crap movie it was based on. The only reason I would even be looking forward to another wolverine movie is if these same developers were in charge of the tie in.

The Punisher (xbox): Not only was this game incredibly fun but it was also genuinely funny! The part where you step out of the casket is pure gold.

Spiderman: Web of Shadows: This game may have had terrible voice acting and a lame story but in terms of gameplay it was leaps and bound ahead of any spiderman game ever released. Web swinging was perfect and for the most part they got combat right as well so why has activision dumped these developers in favor of the shattered dimension developers who are making games that don't really give you the spiderman experience at all? Once again, what is activision doing?

Marvel Nemesis and X-Men: Next Dimension: These were two great superhero only fighting games that not too many people played but I enjoyed both of them thoroughly. Would be great to see more non-crossover superhero fighting games.

So where are all these sequels? I think activision has most of these licences... With the right production value any of these games could challenge Batman AA for the best superhero game crown.

well marvel nemesis does need a sequal and when the next wolverine movie drops is when we will probably get another game

because Movie games are to capitalize on the movie, without the movie then they are just games, bad games.

They shouldn't need a movie. The dark knight rises doesn't come out till next year but we have a batman game this year. All of these games can be sucessful (and would probably be more sucessful) without being tied to a movie.

I would like to retract my statement because i fought this was on movie games and its not. Most these games are going to get a sequel or a game with the ip in it, other than the punisher.

I'd pay for a follow up to Hulk:UD.

because Activision would rather develope yearly sequals to crappy COD rather than create a quality game

It was funny at first, but now it's starting to get annoying. We know you hate COD and think it's low-quality, you don't have to point it out every fucking chance you get.

I mean seriously! Did COD rape your family or something? I've never seen someone so upset over a game in my life.

The man has a point. Activision has multiple studios working on COD titles. We get another one every single year, meanwhile some of these games haven't had sequels in half a decade. Certainly some of those resources could be diverted to other projects.

Dude those games were pretty bad, spiderman WOS was okay but there is no need for a direct sequel, the others are just cringe worthy, good superhero games (batman AA, Marvel ultimate alliance) are getting sequels, this isn't some big secret it's the same as always good games get sequels bad ones don't
