No , hes not ignorant , but Nintendogs are basicly different game . I hate when they count both Pokemon versions in to ...

Oh and Tetris , Duck Hunt , SMB , Wii Sports are all bundled ... so go figure :)

So when you hate things they should be adjusted? I would love that to happen. Yea i hate working too, but can i stop doing it? I really doubt that ;)

Nope , Im fine with those numbers , just that sometimes people praise Nintendo a bit more than they deserve ...

And others don't praise them enough

The only memorable thing they did IMO was that they resurected the gaming industry in 85 ... and common , if Nintendo wouldent have done that , than a nother company would have ...

Not that they didnt do nothing , and man theyb had some great games , but that doesnt means that other gaming companys didnt do at least as good , if not batter ;)

I'm sorry; but this post does not, in any way whatsoever, make your opinion more credible. Your grammar is hideous, your spelling atrocious, and your logic is flawed. First of all, Nintendo ressurected the console industry in the US single-handedly. This was quite an achievement, was it not? Nintendo has been making games to the same great standard for twenty years now! No other gaming company can say that their standards haven't fallen during their company's history. Nintendo keeps producing great games one after another, never failing to satisfy its customers.

Who deserves more praise than Nintendo? One man, and that is Ralph Baer. The man who created the first video game console, the Magnavox Odyssey.

@Griffin:

I mentioned which ones were "forced" pack-ins. And you can tell yourself which ones are published by "first parties."

The list is on the site twice, either under "million sellers," or to see it numbered, in the game database ordered by "sales."

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Nice, for Nintendo. I can see more of their software climb up the ranks these next couple of years.

Yes its annoying when this site has 5 games added to one making it look like nintendo has the best software sales, were in fact its a lie.

Well you see the difference between the Nintendogs is a breed of dog available in each one yet not the other. It's entierly the same game otherwise and pokemon wouldn't work if all the pokemon were in the same game pack. Thus they're fair enough to be put together. However your example of Granturismo is a series of completly stand alone games that interact in no way and thus your opinion on the chart is fairly flawed to say the least.

See I explain this to you calmly and I know you still won't comprehend.

1)The Sims is in 11th, but has many expasions, I haven't seen you complaining about that.

2)And......... do some reaserch, look also for the biggest selling franchises of games ever.

3)Do you think that people buy the always 2 versions of the game??

4)Pokemon Pearl/Diamond are the same journey, the difference is only in the monsters you can get.

1) The expansions are not included in the total sales.

2) Look to what I write at 1) then you know you did better some reseacher yourself ;).

3+4) Their were some people who bought Blue and Red. Ten years ago I got the blue version and later for my
Birthday the red version. About Nintendogs you are probably right.

I had a bigger list, but i couldn't find the link.

Why would I need more reaserch? I have this.

1. Mario: 193 m
2. Pokémon: 155 m
3. Final Fantasy: 68 m
4. Madden NFL: 56 mi
5. The Sims: 54 m
6. Grand Theft Auto: 50 m
7. Donkey Kong: 48 m
8. The Legend of Zelda: 47 m
9. Sonic the Hedgehog: 44 m
10. Gran Turismo: 44 m
11. Lineage: 43 m
12. Dragon Quest: 41 mi
13. Crash Bandicoot: 34 mi
14. Resident Evil: 31 m
15. James Bond: 30 m
16. Tomb Raider: 30 m
17. Mega Man: 26 m
18. Command & Conquer: 25 m
19. Street Fighter: 25 m
20. Mortal Kombat: 20 m

So, expassion for The Sims weren't counted? ....... ok than.

 ___________________________________________________________________

As you said, SOME PEOPLE did buy both versions. But PEOPLE who bought pokemon and Nintendogs have bought the different versions? Do you see the semantic difference?

Don't be a ass.  On this list YES the expansions are included but you said:

On that new list of yours Sims is number 5 ....So we all know that you were talking about the VG list werd Sims is number 11 and their you were wrong...The expansions are not included.

Well I'm tired of everyone bitching and complaining about the games being stocked together. If ya don't like it fine. But you also now have to seperate every seperate version of everything that ever existed in the gaming industry. Seeing that its only MS and Sony fans complaining I'll put it so. PS2 has not sold 115 milion. No the original PS2 has only sold about 75 million, and the slim the rest of that number. PS3 has not sold close to 8 million. With 4 different versions all need to be seperated. 360 has not sold 16 million. Once again with 3-4 different versions all shall be seperated.

If you are going to say that the slight differences in the Nintendogs and Pokemon games can't be counted together than the hardware combos that have been done shan't be togehter either. So either put a sock in your loud mouth, or start separating. Otherwise Nintendogs, the POkemon games, and consoles all are only slight different from one another and basically the same line of game, making them the same package.

Gee, a giant list with no sources! Who needs research!

I can spot plenty of errors on that list pretty quickly.

1. Lineage sales are bunk. Possibly involve bulk subscriptions, or another form of padding.

2. Grand Theft Auto has over 60 million in sales.

3. Need for Speed is not listed. A quick search shows minimum 37 million sales.

4. FIFA has over 20 million sales.

5. Tetris, for Pete's sake. Even sans pack-in.

6. Halo now has 21 million sales.

7. Tony Hawk has at least 30 million sales.

Enough?

Its not fair you add all the sales for every nintendogs version, if thats so why dont you add all the Gran turismo's? Oh thats right it would be at 100M.

Hey, wanna play that game? Why not add every version of Zelda, Pokemon (All of them together), Metroid, Smash Brothers, and every other game?

All three versions of Nintendogs are the same with the difference of 1-2 breeds and were all released at the same time, like Pokemon (Diamond/Pearl, R/G/B, S/G etc) where in Gran Turismo each game is 100% different than it's previous version.

And it doesn't stop there! Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy all going to be one game!

Read the underlined piece. I believe i already said what you stated.

Derrrrrrrrrrr............... this is lis t is about franchises.

That's about the 2)

My answer was agreeing with your answer about the The Sims fist gam.

I wasn't being sarcastic

The list just proves that Nintendo dominates their own consoles and that third party franchises appear to do better on other systems (at least since the SNES).
