Forums - Sales - 1 million more Wiis for the week ending Dec 29?

I used to laugh when JohnLucas said Wii would do 20 million, I didnt think it was going to do more than 17.5.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Well now you know better, and knowing is half the battle, lol

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Even if it doesn't make 20M, then it still went pass another million mark (19M), for the 5th week in a row of a new M mark reach. And will make it very easy to do 6th (20M) and perhaps 7th. Would need a lot of sales, 1.5M or so during the next two weeks, so not a real high probablity, but a JL prediction, and I'm saying that they make it to 7 weeks in a row!

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

Everyone except Xeo seems to have missed the record the DS is sure to have broken.
This will be the 6th week in a row with over 1 million sales, which is a new record.

6 weeks in a row!? Wonder if the DS will be able to top that next holiday season.

Bet with OriGin: Within 1 year Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be ahead of Mario Kart Wii (when aligning the one whole year from each region). 2 week ban from Vgchartz for the loser. Edit: Darn! Looks like OriGin will win.

TWRoO,

You willing to predict that DS will make it 7 weeks in a row over 1M in sales?  With Japan's new years sales most likely going up, that should make it easier!

@ Renar... No I very much doubt it.... but then 2 months ago I was guessing at 4 consecutive weeks this year... so I could be wrong again.

DS will certainly go up a lot this week [end 5th/6th] in Japan though.
I'm going to check the weekly historicals and come back here.

It is possible for a 7th million+ week, but I am doubtful

I would guess America may be down to about 200k this week, Others I think should be above 250k but not much.
Japan I think will not see more than 500k, probably between 400k and 450k.

So I think it will be around 900k.

If you'd paid attention to shipment forecasts, you'd know better at least since October - 19 million units were pretty safe at that point.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

he made a prediction ~8? months ago (john Lucas that is) and he is going to be barely wrong..by a Week...

I don't know about you guys, but i'd say his prediction was pretty damn good.

to be off by under 4% without japan (once japan numbers are in we can tell for sure)-WELL within a reasonable margin of error

the 20 million by end of year prediction by John Lucas will Most Likely Be off by Under 2%
