Wouldn't you call a belief like "mulsims wanna invade Europe" a paranoid one? This doesn't exist only in his mind, but is constantly perpetuated by right wingers. Are you going to deny that bombarding people with such messages isn't going to eventually 'cause situations like these? It's not like the US is a stranger to fear mongering (which always comes from right wing groups). You should be more aware of this stuff. |
Tell me how you think that bombarding people with a message like that is going to cause this to happen.
Like what psychological triggers this causes... and how it's different from any other statement.
Spree killers act for a variety of reasons.
One did because he was "fighting excessive femnimism." (Hey like your crazy parnoid belief. Though one of your more Neo-con views admittidly.)
Another did it because of "excessive population growth" (Hey extreme left wing view on that one.)
Any "extreme" statement is a trigger, right or left... and the actual content of the statement is largely inherently meaningless. These kinds of people WANT to do this and are only looking for an excuse.
If it wasn't Muslims, they'd just pick the next most extreme view.
To bring up serial killers Jeffery Dahmer says he became a serial killer because "He realized their was no god, and therefore, there was no reason to kill people like he wanted."
That's really just it... spree killers want to kill people, and they'll use whatever excuse they can find... and they'll basically just use any excuse.
What usually triggers spree killers isn't ideology.
It's parnoia, combined with something else being wrong with their brain, combined with feeling powerless in their own personal lives. So they project this powerlessness into the world at large, usually due to some shadow group keeping them down, then all the failures and problems in the world can be attributed to the group... or if not a shdaow group one politcal party (either does well) and eventually they feel so powerless in their personal life they snap and want to feel power via gunning down people giving them power over life and death.
Then they either kill themselves or by someone else because they don't want to be taken prisoner and lose that power. Or don't, because they're too afraid of death.
To stop spree killers you basically have to stop a "powerlessness" feeling which is a LOT harder then you'd think. As can be seen by this case in norway.
