Terranigma,

There has never ever been a game as great and amazing as this one, in every single aspect, I am sick of hearing this "Chrono Trigger owned the SNES" crap, Terranigma is light years ahead of it, you may or may not of ever heard of it, but it is the best RPG in the history of mankind.

Everything from the story to the graphics for it's time, and to the music which is unmatched to this day sending every other game of it's genre to shame.

You are a boy named Ark, the idea of this game is to resurrect the planet, starting off in a village in the underworld, you must tackle 5 towers, all of which create a continent after completion of each one, after you complete this you travel to the over world, the real world, where you must grow and develop every natural aspect, you travel from continent to continent helping to invent the worlds major inventions such as Aeroplanes and electricity, even down to the creation of the burger.

Before all this mankind development you have the ability to speak to animals and plants, you must flourish the lands and you must wake up the wind so the birds can fly.

Each step helps you reach your next, for example helping the plants and flowers enables you to climb vines to where the birds lay, waking up wind enables the birds to fly which take you to new places, helping invent the aeroplane enables you the ability to finally take a trip to Australia where you speak with a mayor and help international trade which in result expands cities and unlocks more of the game.

Never has a game been so touching and immersive, truly a gem not to be missed, unfortunately it slipped the radar of mainstream internet media due to the fact that it was never released in the US of A.

Download and play this game, do it now.

I've played the ROM. It was fun and intriguing, but it was missing something that prevented it from being a home run. Can't put my finger on it.

Good, but definately not the best ever.

I completely agree, Terranigma is a GREAT game, now want to play it again.

Woo, there goes my posting virginity.

I never heard of this game before but it sounds interesting. How is the combat system in the game, I got most of the story but how does it play?

I actually think Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrials edges Terranigma out pretty easily and trounces Chrono Trigger.. It was never released in America you know though..

How do you define a "good" rpg game btw? I have tried DQ VIII but it was only decent. Same to KH2 as well... I suppose I'm not an rpg person though... Just curious on the general view of true RPG lovers.

What honestly makes or breaks the genre for me is how the story etc makes me feel about the characters. If I don't like the characters I simply can't enjoy the game I have to like one of their reasons or have empathy for a villan doing something good from his view point but bad from the heroes I like when things aren't cut and dry like that but it's not needed. In Lufia II I have to say I liked all but 2 characters Mia and Artea. I absolutely loved Dekar Maxim and Tia. Basically if the story is crummy or the characters are crummy I just can't enjoy the game.

It's an action/RPG I guess. I actually thought it had more in common with Zelda than Chrono Trigger.

Ehh it's almost exactly like Soul Blazer or Illusions of Gaia but yeah Zelda is a much more popular example though it's a bit more intricate than the snes Zelda game
