You know what I find to be the funniest thing about this whole thing.

Apple is making more than a 25% profit margin on their products. Nobody seems to complain about the massive amount of profit Apple makes (nor am I complaining).

Exxon Mobil makes less than a 10% profit margin on their products. Everybody bitches nonstop that they are ripping us all off so badly, and that they make too much money.

People should stop being two sided. If you are going to whine about Exxon Mobil, then you should be whining about twice as much about Apple.

Thing is, you can easily get by in life without buying a single Apple Product.

It starts getting very difficult to live life with no car.

I see lots of people complain about Apple's profit margins, citing them as evidence that Apple's products are overpriced. You see similar claims made against Nintendo... or at least you used to.

Oddly, I rarely see such claims made against Microsoft, despite their margins floating north of 30%.

As for Exxon, mainstream media tend to report absolute profit, rather than margins. People see constantly rising gas prices, hear Exxon made $10 billion this quarter, and the rage spills out. They don't consider that those profits require a monumental capital investment to harvest.

Tech products, by comparison, tend to fall in price over time. It's harder to get worked up over computer profits when the hardware and the software get better and cheaper every year.

Apple Store revenues are now over $ 3.5 billion. up 36% year over year

that's getting scary.. they will just make billions of music, movies, apps, games stored on servers.. and it will go up and up
