Personally, I don't want either right now or in the near future, but in terms of success, I think it'll be a much closer battle than PSP vs DS. In all honestly, I think Vita has a decent shot of taking both Japan and Europe, but America is too strong for Nintendo and will be the difference, plus 3DS is coming off the most successful console of all time, so it'll just edge it out by those factors alone. While Nintendo seems to be limiting its appeal of the 3DS, it still seems to have a more mass market appeal than the Vita with games like Nintendogs and Layton.

the 3DS will win,no question about it. Just wait until the mario games come out,maybe reduce the price/come out will a bundle are 2,end of debate.

According to the links i have seen and visited the 3DS camera resolution is only 0.3 MP so i must rechange it.  :)

Also power and graphics are seperated because CPU/GPU are used more for just gaming on the PSV and you know it.

So says the guy named "ThePS3News"... But, you know what? Nintendo won't give up its hold on the handheld market to a handheld that likely is less durable, takes longer to charge, and hasn't got much improvement in battery life in comparison to their latest money-printer.

3DS. It's always the games which count. We know so little about the Vita, so everything is either subjective or rumour, bar graphics (but, history has taught us graphics =/= good console).

The whole notion that Nintendo could never possibly lose a handheld battle is laughable. Yes, they've dominated the handheld market ever since they entered it, but, the PSP was the only handheld to give them any sort of challenge. People on here seem to bash and downgrade the PSP at every chance they get, 68+ million units sold speak for themselves. Sure, it isn't anywhere near the DS numbers, sure, it lost the battle against the DS, but, it's still here, and it's still selling. Give credit, where credit is due, Sony didn't go down with a whimper like many of the other challengers to Nintendo. The PSP wasn't a failure, no matter how hard some people try to make it out to be.

OT: This battle will be much closer, Sony has really impressed with the Vita, and lets not forget about the $250 price tag it carries. Software will be the major selling point for both systems, Nintendo will always have Mario and Zelda to fall back on, but, the Vita has a pretty damn good line-up so far. If Sony bring the kind of quality first party games to the Vita like they have done with the Ps3, it'll do just fine.

It did'nt beat the DS,that in itself makes it a failure,not matter how much it sold. lol

I actually think that we might have the 2 best Handhelds ever made both coming out this year. 3DS & PSV both look really good.

With that said, I think the 3DS will take it. 3D + Touch Screen + Nintendo games = Win.
