well clearly Paintball fans are all graphics whores who don't care about gameplay as long as you can see every speck of dust rendered in real time with global illumination and real time dynamic shadows.

Why not? Why not bring up about every single feature hardcore gamers go gaga over that is not in paintball, and then ask how people can like paintball because it is missing all that stuff?
If you want to detect a trend in my posting, it is that I don't think games are necessarily better, because you pump up the said "realism" or graphic effects.

You also forgot about motion control to. You have to move your entire body to play paintball. Sheesh, what is worse than a graphics whore who is into motion control?

Who says you can't ride in vehicles, take down walls and blow stuff up in paintball? And you also more than welcome to take your couch to the feild and play from their, just dont get mad if you dont win like that.

Thats great that YOU feel that way. But others do not. So why try to ruin their fun or belittle them? Why not just do what you enjoy? Do you feel that much of a need to have everyone be like you?
Some courses Ive went to had "tanks"...they were dune buggies with automatic paintball gun turrets.
I find this thread to be really stupid.. Personally, if you've ever played a large paintball match then you know the rush you get. The sounds of the paintballs flying around as you duck for cover. Not to mention paintball is itself its own "game". Its a safe way to play as a team and shoot people without going to jail. If you want to have all the things the "hardcore gamers go gaga over" then join the army. Thats what the games are trying to replicate.

Paintball is about sweating and trusting your back to your mates. Is about feeling phisical pain and having a great meal afterwards and talk about your gaming session for a whole week. Paintball is not for sissies or whining babies. Unfortunately, half of the so called hardcore gamers are both sissies and whining babies.
