Currently Wii is ahead a mere 52,000, but even with a full month of price cut PS3 manages to outsell the Wii, and has done twice before this year.

They'll be more or less even with July's data, then it rests on when the price cut comes and if it can propel it above Wii over November/Dec. Which is unlikely to be godly numbers for the Wii this year.

90% sure Wii is going to kill the competition during the holidays unless there's a massive price drop for PS3.

PS3 will be shortly after price cut while Wii release schedule is barren land of emptiness. In 2010 3rd party games saved holidays for Wii this year it won't even had it.
I expect 1-1,5M december for Wii.

Testicular pie: Ninty did its worst first trying to damage Wii with clumsily worded Wii U announces, then revamping it in a half-assed way with a nice price cut, but no big games launches shortly after to support its initial surge longer and make sales stabilize at a higher level in the longer term, but Wii usually enjoys a huge Xmas lead anyway and that gap is difficult to fill with monthly leads in the order of the tens k, if any, through the rest of the year. What PS3 achieved, in a region where previously only XB360 could resist to Wii, is noteworthy anyway.

I doubt it. PS3 does really bad in Americas in the holidays. It's the complete opposite for the Wii. Plus the Wii already has a moderate lead.

I expect it to be close, but I think the Wii's Christmas boost will propel it above PS3 by year's end. With festive season bundles, temporary price cuts, Mario Party 9, Kirby Wii, Mario & Sonic and Just Dance 3, combined with more "Nintendo Selects" titles, Nintendo will have enough content to support their ace in the hole, Zelda, and give Wii another big Christmas boost. Obviously in raw numbers terms we're not looking at Wii sales matching past years, but percentage wise it will still be a bigger boost than either rival, which will keep Wii ahead of PS3 and under 360, I think.

I think it might be close, but the PS3 could win off the strength of its release schedule alone. The Wii has nothing but Zelda in November. If there's a price cut, it will by default. I don't know what effect Wii's annual Xmas boost will have this year to get it over the impending hump since I expect the PS3 to outsell the Wii from here on out.

PS3 is stronger than ever, it can beat the wii globally specially in Japan, and maybe in "EMEEA", but i dont think that PS3 beat Wii in the US
