So I can't be the only person that has a bunch of crazy ass game ideas floating in his head can I? Anyway I thought I would create a thread where we could post our crazy ideas for games; )

So to get things started a game I have been thinking about for a couple years, a 2nd person horror game

So the basic premis is that you control a young man who we will call John who is babysitting his younger step sister who we will call Jane. Now one day a apocalypse kinda gets started (you know the usual) and humans start getting attacked by various spectral enteties than normal humans can't see. It just so happens that Jane is one of the few humans that can see these creatures so naturally you see the game from her perspective, but Jane being 13 isn't the strongest character arround so her step brother must protect her, so you control him during the game. Naturally the step syblings have a "strained" releationship and will have to learn to work together though the game. So basically imagine a escort mission from hell with the worst camera ever : )

But where the fun really begins is multiplayer, now imagine that you are playing online with your freind and each person controls a different character but only one can do any real damage and the other is the only one who can see the enemies, naturaly headsets would be manditory. Alternativly on the Wii U one player could control John on the TV while the other plays Jane on the Wii U controller.

So what are your crazy game ideas?

Systems have changeable graphic cards like a computer so it can be up to date with the new games graphic. Can't think of any crazy ideas for a game thou.

Anyone who's breaking the law is obvious a criminal.

That is a tall order getting people to confess their craziest ideas. Personally I do not think the following idea is crazy even though there isn't likely to ever be a developer that will take the notion to heart. A survival horror game that is not objective based. That design choice only detracts from the concept. Playing in a nightmare scenario should be about cunning, strategy, and personality. Instead we get scripted, shoved down linear paths, and forced to behave in predictable ways.

Somewhere along the line the developers decided to mimic the movies. Instead of treating their games like worlds that people can visit. Which is missing the catharsis that the genre should offer to players. We have a love slash hate relationship with these movies. We love the concept, but we want the characters to make rational decisions given what is happening to them. That may not make for a good story, but the players are about entertaining themselves. Not entertaining a audience. It doesn't have to look good. It just has to feel good.

Give me a open world with a start point and a end point. Then leave me to navigate the world to reach that goal. Let me have a list of options to exploit while navigating those worlds. Give me the option to handle situations indirectly. Let me build my character in a way that suits my mindset. Seriously I am tired of playing the Hero. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with playing the craven coward. From my perspective the coward probably stands a better chance or surviving, because they will not put themselves in the worst position.

I probably should put this all in a context. Give a concept game as it were. Drop my character in the middle of a major city going through a zombie apocalypse. My goal survive long enough to make my way out of the city. Let me have choices with this. Perhaps get to the harbor so I can get on a boat, or the airport to get a plane. Perhaps I can even just work my way past the outskirts of the city. Then don't make the game about just shooting my way out. Give me the option to hide from the zombies, or to elude them by sneaking, or using paths that obscure my movement. Perhaps even give me tools that may let me distract them away from my location.

Once you do that it seems more real, and since the zombies aren't just targets, but things to be avoided. You can begin to treat them as more then just mindless cannon fodder. Perhaps they can have group mechanics. Maybe they move through the city like army ants. I would just love to be truly strategic in one of these games. I see not one good reason that all of these games need to be on rails. Hell it may even offer up alternate modes.

I guess I am just arguing for a sandbox survival horror game. Which I think every fan has been wanting.

A game where you control Reggie Fils-Aime. You just sit at your desk and do nothing.

Super Smash Bros: Online Fray (Tentative title)

A Super Smash Bos. MMO. It will be an online only fighting game where you make your own character (not a Mii), you custoize their fighting moves, and damage and stuff.

The game starts in an open world where eyou can train, to quests (minigames) with others, look for fights, and spend XP to upgrade your attributes, and change your outfit.

You level them up, and fight other characters (users). When you get to certain levels, you fight the one of the ancients (a character from one of the previous games). After you defeat the ancient, you get a new moveset if you want it.

You level up, and when you reach the highest level, you are deemed "prestigous", and you get to train other up and coming fighters.

well this game spawns in every genre but i'll stick to the turn based RPG version

it starts after the Apocalypse as you journey to stay alive. the worlds of heaven and hell have merged into every universe.

the games chacters are alittle strange featuring a preist, atheist that beleives shit happens or the gov. did it, a redneck with hate for everything not white and a shit load of guns, a scientist that beleives in the theroy that everything happens for a reason, a man that happens to wield several different types of weapons, and a old women that uses witchcraft. with skill trees for each character.

each version tells the game from a different perspective. it takes a modern day approach to the characters as you can see.

Here is my crazy game idea:

A teenage boy, who we will call John for now, who lives comfortably in our modern world is suddenly starting to travel time beyond his control while being chased by weird entities. He will travel to the past, the future, and back to his own time multiple times through out the game. He will meet many friends and enemies through out his time traveling and on the way find out what exactly is going on.

The game will be a console-style RPG with each time period giving you different party members. It will be turn based but you will be able to do double and triple team attacks, similar to Chrono Trigger. It will also have a limit break-like bar which when filled up will allow you to pull off devastating attacks. However, unlike most turn based RPGs, battles will not be separate from exploration. Instead, it will be similar to Chrono Trigger in that battles are initiated on the same screen when the main character gets close to an enemy.

Yes, Chrono Trigger is a huge influence on this game idea but I promise, if this game ever gets made, it will not be a carbon copy.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
