They tie in my head. Valkyria Chronicles is funner to play, but Mass Effect has a more interesting story.

I voted Mass Effect just because I'm biased, and hate PS3 exclusives.....No, some people want to me say that, but I only voted Mass Effect because it has a sequel on console, and I feel more tempted to return to that game then Valkyria Chronicles. I also really didn't like the ending to VC, felt it was far too rushed.

I won't lie, I do prefer 360 exclusives over Sony exclusives, but it's not always the case. Had I caught the Heavy Rain vs. Alan Wake vote, I'd vote Heavy Rain. Uncharted 2 is also an amazing game, put it up against something other then Halo/Gears (more replay value), or Mass Effect 2 and I'd vote for it, even over ME1. InFamous is >> Crackdown, and well I can go on. Sometimes, games come close in quality (like now, or L4D versus Killzone's), so it doesn't really matter who I vote for in those cases.

But this is a vote for opinion, and I dislike GoW and MGS. Not a big fan of LBP, Resistance, or Warhawk either, so why would I vote those games over anything? Not a fan of Fable either, put Fable up against Folklore, and I'll vote Folklore no problem.

Anyway...If I am baised about anything, it's bias against Sony games, not for Microsoft games because I love Nintendo games more then MS's. It's only a couple Sony IP's, I just have no interest in, and I mentioned them above.

Killzone 3 Multiplayer is fun as hell. I love it, I just prefer Left 4 Dead 2.

I voted Left 4 Dead 2 over Killzone 3 mainly because Killzone 3 co-op is broken. I can't resume a co-op campaign in single player, or vice versa. I also can't chapter select a chapter in co-op, which I've beaten in single player, or vice versa. So to play the last level in Co-op, I have to beat the game in co-op. This is just terrible, I've never played a co-op game with co-op so poorly implemented. Co-op is a big deal for me, so it was a dealbreaker for Killzone 3 for me.

MUGEN took my comment on some of the maps being badly balanced too far. He just flipped out and went overboard, and wouldn't accept I have a different opinion then him. Every game has those types of maps, I just found them particularly bad in KZ3. However this is only on a few maps, you can just avoid those maps and have fun. Also I play many MP games at 2-5am, I have trouble filling many of my games in Killzone 3. This does not happen in L4D2, despite L4D2 being an older game.

I have my own preferences, that's all. I love Sony as a company. The PS3 is the best machine out there (built in chargers for the controllers, free online, decently reliable before the Slim model, no Kinect). Just when it comes to personal preference on games, I tend to like 360 exclusives over PS3's. This is why I bought a 360 before a PS3, and this is why my 360 is my primary console, and not my PS3 (look at my library).

However, the level of quality is close sometimes. Killzone and Halo(main series), GT and Forza, Lost Odyssey and Valkyria Chronicles, Gears and Uncharted, Alan Wake and Heavy Rain, etc. I'm not trying to put down any PS3 exclusive, I just prefer 360 ones, but I try to avoid claiming that "they are better." unless there is a clear cut distinction in quality (InFamous IS better then Crackdown).

For Mass Effect vs. Valkyria Chronicles, they are a tie. Just EA took Mass Effect somewhere and SEGA killed VC. That's the only reason I give more credit to ME1.

I wish more people got the bolded part - and totally agree.  I happen to prefer PS3 exclusives this gen, for example I much preferUncharted as a TPS vs Gears, but I'd never claim Gears was rubbish or Uncharted was somehow "Better".   I just prefer it because I prefer Indiana Jones type vibe to ultra-violence Dudebro vibe.  Just like you (but in reverse) this is why I got a PS3 ahead of buying a 360.

I don't think you should feel the need to defend your own personal preferences, they should be respected by all posters.  As you say the issue is only when people get clouded and try and go on about quality titles sucking due to console preference or taste.

On Topic - I'm going to put in one last vote for VC.  I like ME franchise and really liked ME2, but ME I found to be a mass of weak gameplay that, in the excitement to praise a Western action RPG, most reviewers decided to ignore.  The combat (which was 90% of the game) was a joke next to similar TPS combat titles like Uncharted and Gears, the inventory and menus were awful to navigate and use, the morality scheme was no better than the maligned good/bad scheme in inFamous yet touted as something great, and the character models, while detailed and great in dialogue scenes were animated like stick figures and again in motion/combat were far behind the quality bar of Uncharted/Gears level character animations.  And let's not even talk about the side missions and driving sections.

In short, ME was a good story with average to weak gameplay that got way overpraised due to circumstance and timing while VC was solid throughout, from story to gameplay and I'd argue a better game as a result whether you like the genre or not.

lol surprisingly Kickass is right. He may be new but serioulsy there's at least 20 posts about you arguing over Killzone 3 MP. That was the most ridiculus argument on this thread. Most pointless as well
