I voted Sony, it's the lesser of the evils.

I respect Nintendo, the parent company the most, but Nintendo of America the least, so by default I had to select Sony.

Nintendo makes insanely reliable products. I have never had a Nintendo product break without physical abuse. Along with Nokia, It's the only technological company I have not had products die due to age, overuse, or malfunction. Nintendo of Japan also makes a lot of amazing games, sadly many of them do not get ported over. It was a miracle we got Fire Emblem, and even then only half of them despite excellent sales. They also need to innovate their old IP's IMO, but new IP's like Pikmin and Fire Emblem are just phenomenal.

Microsoft as a company I don't respect. They are American, and just like every other American company I have ever come across profit comes before quality. Thankfully I bought an extended warranty with my 360, so despite being on my forth console, I finally got an HDMI model. Microsoft did extend their warranty to 3 years, but when they "fixed" my console, they first sent me another broken console, and then another high fail rate model. It was Best Buy that finally got me the HDMI model, and only after bitching. Also MS killed Rare, and doesn't really publish that many first party games. The exclusives they do have are second to none IMO, but the selection is small. Also charging for online service, faulty controllers, and poor customer service put them at the bottom for me

So Sony is my vote, but they aren't perfect. My PS1 and PS2 are broken (PS2 only plays some games, faulty laser), but to be fair they were both first generation models. Also they have made several new IP's this generation, but except for Uncharted 2 and InFamous, nothing stand out IMO. Removing BC on PS3, and then releasing PS1/PS2 games over PSN and in compilations is the biggest downfall of Sony IMO. They also took way too long with GT5, they need to expand Polyphony Digital.

So Sony is pretty neutral in my books. Good service, decent games, okay reliability. Nintendo is low, great parent company, terrible regional. MS is the lowest, typical US crapfest, but the games are amazing.

All that said, next generation I'll be going either Microsoft or Sony. I just got a Wii, and in protest against not localizing a dozen great games, and moving Pikmin 3, I won't be getting a Wii U. Wii U 2 will likely be backward compatible anyway. I'm more inclined to Sony because of the Kinect focus 360 is getting now, and Gears is not guarenteed to be exclusive next gen. I'm a big RPG, Racing, and Shooter fan, but Halo, Forza, and a few exclusive JRPG's might not be enough to sway me. It will depend on games, this gen MS made more games I prefer, but next gen might be a different story.
