Well I've tried VC but I couldn't really get into it. Apart from FF Mass Effect is the only RPG game I actually like. I've already explained why I like it better in previous posts.

I never played VC and I honestly believe given I love Mass Effect I'd have voted for it but I'd rather not vote against a game I've never played, even if I cannot stand JRPG's lol.

VC hands down. A mixture of 3rd person shooter, FPS, RTS, RPG, comedy, action, drama. 80+ hours of gameplay, DLC all in an anime style art. best action rpg this gen imo.

Valkyria Chronicles.

Tough call. Both awesome games. Both awesome single player campaigns.
But I liked acing the skirmishes in Valkyria chronicles more then the side missions in Mass Effect.
The graphical style of Valkyria chronicles is something special, it will still look awesome 2 generations from now. I also felt a little more connected to the characters in Valkyria Chronicles then in Mass Effect.

Valkyria chronicles wins.

Oh I missed the killzone 2 vs Halo 3 vote. Just as well, I did not play halo 3 and Killzone 2 was pretty but average.
