what is the phillips cdi?
If we're looking for a properly complete games database (which, last I checked, we were), then I think at least having each major/well-known system listed is a must.

If the database is supposed to be complete, the CDi has to be listed. The 64DD would be fine within the N64 in my opinion.

The Phillips CD-i, or Compact Disc Interactive, is the name of an interactive multimedia CD player developed and marketed by Royal Philips Electronics Corporation. CD-i also refers to the multimedia Compact Disc standard used by the CD-i console, also known as Green Book, which was developed by Philips and Sony. Work on the CD-i began in 1984 and it was first publicly announced in 1986.The first Philips CD-i player, released in 1991 and initially priced around USD $700, is capable of playing interactive CD-i discs, Audio CDs, CD+G (CD+Graphics), Karaoke CDs, and Video CDs (VCDs), though the last requires an optional "Digital Video Card" to provide MPEG-1 decoding.
The CD-i proved to be a commercial failure in the market segment and some of its games have been known to be among the worst games ever made.[1] Philips ceased publishing video games for the platform in 1998. (Source Wikipedia)
Also for the author's question. NO niether should be included because both were failures and only lasted 2 years.

I would entirely agree with the CD-i, but would disagree with the 64DD. The 64DD is simply an add on for the N64 and therefore IMO doesn't warrant it's own place on the drop down menu. Equally, other add ons with games that can only be played using them, such as the DSi and the 32X aren't included.

What about including Atari 2600 in Hardware Totals? Wikipedia says that sold 30 million units, not exactly something to ignore.
Sega Master System, and TurboGrafx-16 also had sales which beat the Dreamcast and Saturn, why aren't they included?
What about ColecoVision, Sega CD, Intellivision, N-Gage, and 3DO? They all had decent sales.
.....
As for N64DD, that thing only sold 15k, that's less then what a lot of games get in a week.
As for games under consoles. If WonderSwan is a console, Atari 2600 should at least be one too (it outsold the Gamecube!)
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database

To put bluntly the slowest part of the site with updates by far has been the DB. It takes lots of time for changes to get done in the DB for reasons I don't know of.
Former something....
