Forums - Nintendo - Link's Crossbow Training Review

It's only 20 bucks, but I cant bring myself to pick it up. Every time I have it in hand, I keep seeing a giant plastic bin filled with all the different Wii peripherals in it. Nunchucks, classic controllers, wii boards, guitars, cross bows, steering wheels, etc.

A no brainer for 20 bucks.

I like the zapper, and disagree with the IGN review of it, though the True Shot looks interesting.

LCT was VERY short. I finished it in 2 days with all platinum medals, but still fun and may have some replay value for score junkies.

I hear from my brother (who gifted me the zapper for xmas.) that RE: UC is pretty spectacular, if you enjoy the lightgun-esque games.

I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

Even though the multiplayer is turn-based, four of us had a lot of fun playing it this evening. I really enjoy the challenge in this game.

I'm a little disappointed because I platinumed everything in about 4 hours. I wish there was something past platinum to go after.

I'm not really a typical case though. I've been shooting skeet all of my life and I have a pretty good natural ability for shooting.

Did anyone notice the lag in this game? Don't know why, but if you wiggle the Wiimote around, you'll find that the cursor is a bit late. Compared to games like Mario Galaxy, for example.

The calibration screen has an option for cursor speed. I'm guessing there's a tradeoff between speed and jitter. So turning up the speed will probably give you more jitter (cf. the Wii menu cursor) which could interfere in delicate shots.

I've put in 6 hours and need 4 more plat and and I don't even have gold on a couple stages :(

The cursor speed setting just controls how far you have to move the remote to get the pointer to move across the screen.  It's exactly like mouse sensitivity; it doesn't change any 'smoothing' that might be happening.

I just scored 171917 points on level 3-1 (for reference, you need 80,000 points on all three stages combined for a platinum medal). I also just found a secret in this level. I think you have to destroy both scarecrows by fully inflating their heads and then capping them for 1000 points each.

Apparently, most of the target shooting levels have secret areas, and inflating the scarecrow heads before decapitating them (each time you shoot them in the chest, their head inflates, up to 8 shots) is indeed the way to unlock the secret areas. If you successfully inflate and decapitate the first scarecrow, another one will appear in the second area. Inflate and decapitate it to access the secret third area, which is usually chock full of those special yellow bonus targets.
