This really illustrates how young this site really is... and the reason for some of the comments on these boards.

But I digress...

First game ever played: Pac-Man when it was NEW in the arcade (1981)
First game ever owned: Combat on the Atari 2600 (1982)

The OP made me feel old, but this post just made me feel young again. Thank you sir.

OT:

I think it was some Olympics game for the NES. The one where you ran in place on a mat. Either that or Super Mario/Duck Hunt.

No, problem!

I will say that I am happy to have been around at the beginning (though not the birth unfortunately) of a new hobby... as well as the crash and Nintendo renaissance.

And, I believe the game you mean is "World Class Track Meet".  It was boxed along with SMB and DH on a 3 in 1 cartridge sold with the power pad NES.

Technically it was the Mega 6 Pac that game with the Mega Drive, though what game i played on it first im not sure it may have been Streets of Rage or Revenge of Shinobi.

It was either Bomberman on the SNES or North and South on the NES.

Space Invaders in 1978, then Asteroids and Defender. First console game was probably Pong. First computer game was Blitz on Vic 20 and I also had a Astro Wars 'console' in the early 80s.

Like quite a few others here, I've been here since the beginning :D

Yes.

Super Mario World!! Ah! Nice time and memories with mi brothers with that game!

the first game i played was mortal Kombat 2.

Probably Pacman at a local arcade. The first I actually remember playing, however, is Diddy Kong Racing, which was our first game along with Super Mario 64 when my family got the N64 (our first ever console). I would've been about six then...

Hmm

I don't entirely remember....

Pac Man in the arcade, 1980/81.  First video game I saw people playing and couldn't stop thinking about it until I went back later when the machine was finally free and tried it myself. The first of the truly great games of all time, IMO.
