^ I don't see the point in spending an extra 80$ when I could just save it up until my PS2 breaks or I have enough money to buy a PS3.

I would check out Killzone for the PS2 also, heard that the community was pretty good and it can prep you up for when Killzone 2 releases for the PS3. Also, the PS2 does not have a Internet Browser, not sure who told you that. |
Yeah you gotta check out killzone! my only regret with having killzone is i never had online for the PS2, the adapter was too weird for me, i prefer just the ethernet cable like it is now, simple and effective.
Killzone is a great game, I still play it once in a while for old time sake.

Because I might have 50$ but I don't have 550$. |
Maybe you could try to get a used slim ps2 on ebay? $50 is pretty expensive for the network adapter by itself. used slim ps2's aren't that much more expensive than that. Then if you want you could sell your old ps2 to make up some of the difference.
As for the topic, I've never played my slim PS2 online. My friends used to be big SOCOM fans though and played it all the time.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
I'm buying a brand new adapter for 25$ plus 10$ for shipping, it's not too expensive plus it's new, used PS2 slims end at like 70$+ on Ebay so I figured 35$ is a not bad price.

I have never played a game online with the PS2. I had XBOX so I didn't really see the point.
I had the PS2 Network Adapter on one of my friends PS2 and it was crappy as hell, didn't want to work. I dropped it from like a 6-story apartment building and i attached it to the PS2 and it eventually started to work.
I would try out Killzone as Sorair said and since you have the old PS2. I would give Final Fantasy XI a shot.

Well $35 isn't as bad then. In your OP you said $50, so...
