Following this morning’s news that Rockstar is bringing L.A. Noire to PC this fall, the publisher has announced it’s shipped 4 million copies of the crime thriller across PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 since its May 21 launch.

The numbers come as no surprise. The game topped the charts in the United Kingdom for three weeks straight when it launched last month. It was also the best-selling game in the United States for the month of May.

Just completed the game about 10 minutes ago and I have to say, well deserved! The game's good fun, cinematic and combines elements of adventure and sandbox games very well. The story isn't your usual video game fare either. Not perfect by any means but a solid and original title.
