Forums - General - Man Robs Bank to Get Free Medical Care in Jail

this man stole my plan B in life!

now i have to move on to plan C: suing him for stealing my plan!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Well done. In my country you wouldn't need that because public hospitals are free. If you ask me that's much more civilized than other countries solutions.

yep its great here in australia, feeling an bit sick, pop down to your local doctor and see him, sure you have to wait an hour but hey its free.

only thing you need insurance is for the ambulance but its cheap.

Anyways this is the biggest problem with the justice system in majority of western nations is that when you are sent to jail , sure you are with bad people but hey you get an roof, feed every day, medical attention and some times job recruitment help and education and even money for when you get out. An yet there are people staving sick and homeless who haven't committed an crime.

Interesting. I share your concern and I didn't know Australia had free public hospitals.

I had been reading about your country lately. About the process in which you created your nation identity and about the challenges "muticulturality" means to your institutions. I find it interesting because the process of colonization in Australia and the history that followed has lots of differences with american countries but lots of similarities at the same time.

Too bad he couldn't get an executive job at the bank. Then he'd have healthcare and he could rob the bank and taxpayers without going to prison (if Goldman Sachs and other banks are any indication)..

Strange story, but i can't blame the man for his actions!

Luckely where i live, health care is easily affordable. :)

Good for him. The U.S.'s healthcare system is so fucked, I don't blame him for doing what he did.

Side Note: My sister was rushed to the emergency room last month and they just left her in a room by herself in pain for 45 mintues. There were only two other patients in the ER!

to sum it up it was basically: England: Crap our prisions are so full what do we do, i know send them to this new place other side of the world. Prisoners: this isn't so bad, its better than england, England: Crap that land is too good, lets move there. Australian: Crap our population is f'ed since we all went and fought ww1 and ww2 lets get more people but only white people. Australians: Dam we are racist people, lets let them all in.

Thats true, but great thing about Canada is you get free medical care, food banks all over, soup kitchens galore. Homeless shalters in every major city. Low income housing for those who can't afford normal homes and a welfare cheque of 500$ a month to live on.

Most of the homeless people in Canada are drug addicts and alchoholics or smoking addicts. I'd say a trip to jail to kick those habits is the biggest advantage to going to jail. That and free education and tattoo's.

Most likely, too lazy to get a job.

I was unemployed for a few years, I didn't even ask for welfare.
