"just get used to it" is a terrible way to do business.  but as you seem unlikely to change a commonly disliked and complicated feature just know that i henceforth intend to use dislike/likes to my own selfish fanboy purpose until you realize that customers are they ones that will dictact how a feature is used, not your teams intentions.

nintendo fans -- time to feel my wrath...

Problem is that it isn't "commonly disliked" - there are as many people saying they like it as dislike it - maybe we should put a like / dislike on this thread?

Er only 3 people like it based on this thread.  More than 10 dislike it.

If it were a democracy the system would go.

Or at least just don't change the order of the posts.

Btw Facebook only uses a like button. There are no dislike button. That's how it should be.

yeah, i'm sorry ioi but i don't think you are reading the same thread as everyone else. 10-3 against and 1 of the "for"s said "I like it, because I'm winning at the moment =D. "  highlighting the very problem ... people abuse the system to execute their fanboy side not their reasonable side.   i've never seen a like/dislike section not be abused and worse yet here you actually reward the fanboyism of it...

... but sure, maybe we should do an actual poll instead of just a opinion thread.

No. I like it tbh :p It makes you see what comments are good, and what comments just suck.

I like it and hope that it stays !

I have stopped posting and reading comments in the articles since the addition of this annoying system. Will not post there again.

Would it be reasonable to say that the people moaning about this are probably the ones who have had one of their comments downvoted?

Maybe a few. I just like to form my own opinion on what is good and have no wish to be graded. This site is suppossed to be fun not like school.
