I'm shocked that so many people want to be porn stars. You guys are aware that men only make good money in gay porn, right?

The fun with being an International Relations major is that there really is no plan B as something wholly distinct from what you're up to. I was actually talking with my university's career councilors yesterday, and basically IR Majors can go into any industry so long as a given company in that industry does something internationally (and given all the global trade and foreign direct investment going on today, that's more or less everywhere). So i could work for Firestone tires helping coordinate with the Japanese company that owns them, or work with Ford associating with their plants in Russia, or even stay at my own University, just work in the Study Abroad unit (very unlikely, but possible)

My main plan is to either go teach English in Japan (though that would only be a short-term gig, 1 to 5 years depending on how much I like it and how well I do) or to get into the US Foreign Service, but i'm going to try everywhere I have the time for in my Senior year next year, so anything that isn't the JET Program or the Foreign Service is Plan B, but it would all still be relevant

Same here, probably next year... I dont qualify for the jet program though... I moving there by the end of the year, probably a month or two, so everything will depend of how well things go by then...

porque eres costariqueno?

One to five years is short-term? Got time to burn, amigo? :P

What are the general reqs, anyway? I wouldn't mind going for it myself.

It's not a job i could hold the rest of my life is what i mean by short term.

You might need to be an American citizen. That's why i'm wondering why Menx isn't qualified (Costa Rican), and Israelis would be likewise disqualified

Plan A was to join the military (a bit of a cop out). Did that. Didn't like it.

Plan A v.1.1 was to be a cop. That went pretty well but certain things made me hate that choice.

Now, I have a well paying job that's so easy, I could do it in my sleep. I don't feel too fulfilled but its stress free. Should I just stay the course? Sometimes, I want to go back to being a cop. If, for some reason, I lose my job, I don't have a plan B. Porn, maybe?

-Oh, I don't mean porn star, either. I mean I'll just go watch some porn.

why didnt you like the army. any how i dont exactly have a plan. Im working with my dad(im 17) in construction, i hate it. When im 18 i will probably join the army infantry. Almost all jobs are so boring to me the only thing that interests me is becoming a cop, or a firefighter(a lot of my family are firefighters). I deffinatly dont plan on going to collage, so for me i will probably join army than ill become cop, firefighter or something similer.

At the time, I was a pretty sheltered kid and I hadn't really been away from home before.  That's all.  It did do a lot for my personality and confidence, though.  I can't deny that.  I think I went in too early.  Strange thing was that I tried to re-enilst.  Glad I didn't re-take the ASVAB test, though.

Being a cop was all around awesome (except for the pay).  Just don't plan on having a serious relationship because outside forces will ruin it.  Every cop I know had a divorce.  It was pretty fulfilling and always exciting, though.  Just don't plan on having a lot of money in your pocket.

Plan A: Superhero

Plan B: Antihero

Plan C: Paul Gilbert

What if you marry another cop?

I study electronic engineering with robotics specialization, my plan A is working in the robotics field or anything related, and I'm ready to stretch it quite a bit, for example I could stretch the path planning part and be satisfied working on missile guidance. Plan B is any field of engineering, although I'd try to avoid teaching, as I'm not very good at explaining things to people that don't know enough about them already and I'm not very patient.

Don't necrobump old threads, especially when it gives me hope that darthdevidem01 was back

You wouldn't be the first to try.

A wall post generally works better for that, and doesn't clutter the front page with old threads.
