Forums - Nintendo - Wii will always have Wii Sports As Pack-In: Opinion

In my opinion, Nintendo Wii will always have Wii Sports as a pack-in and probably will not change during the Wii's lifetime. This all boils down to one reason: Because the Wii is being marketed as a casual gamer system, it is safe to assume that this system has to relate to a lot of people across the world. What is one thing that relates to everyone no matter where your from? is the Thats Right. Sports answer.  Sport, no matter which one game, can be used to bring people together and enjoy the game(s) everyone knows. Imagine the Nintendo Wii being packed in with something like Metroid Prime 3. I don't think this will give a good first impression to the casual gamers. Thank you for reading.

P.S.
I'm a noob.

Expect more from me!! >=D

Welcome! And I agree with all of your points, and would like to add that wii sports is pretty much the mascot & selling point for casuals. Odd name, BTW

Future pack in:...............

Wii sports AND

Wii Sports Two

Double the goodness, and still no price cut, but hey, two free games!

Pretty much the only game that would replace Wii Sports would be Wii Sports 2. If there isn't a Wii Sports 2 then Wii Sports will remain bundled.

I think Wii Sports (or Wii Sports II if they make one) will always remain a pack-in option. I do however think they will eventually branch out a bit and offer different options, like a Galaxy bundle or Wii Fit bundle. It's hard to guess which games might be chosen, but I think they'll eventually offer more options once the whole supply/demand thing gets under control.

Maybe a Super Mario Galaxy bundle but I can't see a Wii Fit bundle making sense. Wii Fit includes a board that will add to the cost of the original Wii. This will only raise cost and I think Nintendo is trying to keep the price down as low as they can and keep it there for a while because, let's face it, Nintendo has one huge advantage over the competitors, which is the price. Super Mario Galaxy, maybe, since Mario is the mascot of Nintendo and they can be easily interchanged and easily recognizable.

 That makes no sense whatsoever.  Why would they bother doing this if demand is still high?  Why would they put in a peripherial that is going to sell for 80 dollars, for free?  In addition to 60 extra dollars in controllers?

 In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there won't even be any colors until summer / fall 2009 at the earliest.
