Don't forget about ebay. I bought my ME1 last june for ~10$ on ebay

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

To be fair GOW 1 and 2 aren't rare games and they've been remastered. You might as well had tried to trade in Madden 09. Good for you taking your games to a local store and getting a much better price though.

People still like original versions of games, not download, not remastered, not even Platinum. Reason why FFX, X-2, XII still sell for higher values if the packet is the original one.

That said I agree with the article, while not as a big ripoff, my housemate recently took a load of games to get some cash. In Gamestation (along side Game as owned by the same people), one of the biggest game retailers in the UK, they offered him £85 cash for all his games, we then went to Playtime, smaller retailer with just a few outlets round the country if that, has a better selection of older games too, £110 cash. Quite a difference considering for most games they both sell 2nd hand for the same price.

Althought the smaller store rejected 2 games because they have too many already.

This is only true for certain genres/games. For example, I own two versions of Chrono Cross (original and greatest hits) just because I wanted to have the original black label. But I don't believe too many people care about owning the original version of a blockbuster action game that was only 8 hours long.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

eBay would take too long...especially with the impending Canada Post strike.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

this thread is so wrong... we should be mad at him for selling ZOE... who does that?! *shakes fist*

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Yea, I should have known the evil rising when Gamestop bought Funcoland and a few other stores. I actually typed Funcoland into Google and came across a destructoid article talking about how they abused their employees by showing them terrible training videos. I watched most of the first one and it was pretty bad.

Smaller Ma and Pa shops don't sell games any cheaper than Gamestop/EB in my experience.

The only shops that sell used games cheaper than EB/Gamestop I've found are pawn shops.

I always go to amazon for my gaming needs. Gamestop is a rip off. Besides trying to push everything on you, they overprice and give you back only a fraction of what they sell for on used games.
