Forums - Nintendo - Wii U controller ports

I couldn't tell from the pictures, but does the Wii U still have the 4 controller port that the Wii and Gamecube have?

Also, I was kind of wondering if Nintendo will release a wireless dual analog controller.  That would be kind of nice for the hardcore gamers out there.

One thing that is going to be difficult with the Wii U is the myriad controller inputs.  If it accepts the tablet, Wii motes, wiimotes+nunchuks, gamecube controllers, and classic controllers there may be much confusion for developers on how to make the in-game controls.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

Wii U won't play GameCube games, so there'll be no controller ports. There was a report about this the other day, but I'm too lazy to go find it. :P

No. WiiU had no controller ports at all. It will have zero compatibility with GC.

The front panel you see in pics houses a SD card slot and two usb ports.

However, it is fully compatible with all other Wii accessories and controllers. So you do get a dual analog wireless controller through the classic/pro.

The tablet controller is a wireless dual analog controller.
