my next laptop will hopefully have hardware like this. I can't play too many games on current laptop. I wouldn't mind playing a little Starcraft II, Diablo 3, and BF3 on PC. Otherwise, I am strictly a console gamer.

It's also worthy to note that you can get 700 dollar laptops more powerful than that. This thing was 700 bucks USD before it was sold out last year http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115864 even has a 1gb ddr3 video ram with the 5650. The difference of course is the power draw, but my Mom is super happy with it when I got it for her because that thing is got a big screen and pretty damn fast.

PS3 and X360 graphics are not impressive anymore, yet that doesn't mean they don't deliver. Now it can all be about the games, finally.

Yes but the big diffrence is you had to choose laptop with gaming in mind as you had to take model with strong gpu now those gpus will be in every laptop sold that has amd cpu inside (this one is top of the amd line but slower models released later should still pack some nice gpu power).

That means we are looking into future where everyone has gaming machine and can start playing with few clicks of a mouse in one of DD systems.

Hence why I wrote earlier that I'm waiting to see 1-2 years down the road and am expecting dramatic improvement, ATM the bottleneck is the same as always, RAM usage on the embedded GPU.

Was this not the same last generation? I dont really know why this is surprising.

according to back to the future part 2 we will have flying cars and hover boards and oh the self lacing shoes all by 2015. So less than 4 years to go!
