Hopefully they can get at least another 30-40% out of the Reach engine.

They're describing it similar to how Bungie described upgrading the engine from 3/ODST to Reach so lets hope its a technical jump on the same level as it was from 3/ODST to Reach as it is from Reach to Halo 4 i.e. massive :D

Aye that would be truly marvelous!

Yeah I think the cleanness helps Halo a lot when put under microscope. I did have it at 720p for a but not with the projector setup. I'll try that again. What projector do you have btw? I'm rocking a BenQ plus 1000 as well as Acer h5360 for 3D vision gaming but that one is 720p.

Panasonic pt-ae1000u. I'm getting near the end of the life of my 2nd bulb. Maybe I'll buy a new 3D one instead of another lamp, I haven't found a good 1080p one yet.

It could be my old 360 anyway, I tried some 1080p test patterns and they don't come out right on 360. The hair comb patterns look fine on the ps3 but on 360 it looks like the picture is downscaled then upressed again.

Oh nice...few years back that Panny was really as good as it got for home theater(sub $10K). Im sure its still great.

I know a thing or two about 3D and really there is no point of gettin a 3d 1080p projector(yet). All of the 3D projectors now are coming out are based on the HDMI 1.4 spec. And this spec does not allow for 1080p 3D at 60hz. So even though you have a projector which is 1080p and 3D, you can't game in 1080p 3D or will you be able to do so ever(next gen consoles, PC today already can do 1080p per eye 3D).

All you can do is watch Avatar bluray in 1080p 3D since that runs at 24hz and there is enough bandwith for that. Getting to watch 4-5 decent 3D movies isn't worth paying 4000 dollar for a so-so 2D projecter and a limited 3D projector.

You are much better of buying something like an Epson 8700 (kickass 2D 1080p) and a 3D 720p projector if you really want to experience 3D...and have both setup in the same room.

That is until they release Dual DVI 1080p 3d projectors or next HDMI spec 3D.

Hopefully they've put Corrinne's brilliance to good use in the aspects they've worked up. I would've liked something from the ground up with her and all the other talent at 343 but I understand it really wouldn't be worth the investment this late into the lifecycle as this would probably be the only game to use the tech, and then major rewrites would be required for the next gen. I'd have actually preferred that they put Halo to rest for the rest of this gen and really wow us at the launch of the next Xbox with a whole new engine and codebase built from the ground up for that platform. Either way, hope it impresses me as my Halo hype levels are at an all time low at this point.

Took the words right out of my mouth.  Hearing her speak about the still untapped potential of the 360's architecture (as well as her commendation for the way some devs have with the PS3) made me a believer in her and her work.  Eager to see how her and her team have turned out the already impressive Reach engine.

Not surprised, it'll only be used for one game.

Took the words right out of my mouth too!
