POOOP...

On a more serious note I doubt they'll unveil a new console as kinect still needs time to thrive, or maybe the new console will have built in kinect! =O

The new console would be very easy to make compatible with all existing Kinects. =)

Ya I would suspect that, but they should make the kinect integrated in the system.

What, and have the camera poking out of the xbox? this is a very stupid idea considering Kinect needs to be at least 2 feet off the ground

Ouch bro, don't shun my idea so badly, but I do see your point. Still though I can't see the problem with this happening and why does it need to be 2 feet off the ground?

Because it is a camera and needs to have a good range of view to fit entire human bodies in the frame without distortion of a weird viewing angle.  2ft or 6ft are the recommended mounting heights for Kinect.  So unless the console itself was as small as Kinect this would not be logical.

Damn... well time to make a new xbox integrated kinect that's 3 feet tall.

Or not, but damn then that sucks, then if they release a successor to the 360 so soon wouldn't kinect just die off as people start moving over to the new home console?

No, because Kinect could very easily be made compatible with the new Xbox... as I said in my first reply to you... =)

Yes, I know that I was saying it would be a good idea to integrate in the system, not just be compatible. Sadly the kinect has those damn limitations though!

I hope we have a clear failure next gen. I don't want to buy all the consoles again.

Those saying it would take 12 months from the announcement to release should look back at how MS have done it in the past with the 360.

360 was announced on may 12th 2005 on mtv. Then shown at E3 the following month using Xbox 360 Alpha Development Kits. The console then released on November 22nd 2005. 6 months after it's reveal.

Seeing as the console is their most succesful one you would think they would attempt to follow the same pattern.

I wonder if they'll consider releasing Halo 4 on both consoles? Alot of the hardcore base would be tempted to upgrade for the upgraded graphics and they're not selling themselves short on the smaller marketshare.

If this is true, I'll actually buy the new Xbox at launch.

But I doubt it's true. For the sake of my wallet, I hope it is.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

A late 2012 release makes sense. PS4 will probably be out a few months after, maybe March 2013.

I really want Timesplitters 4!! I loved the humor in those games ;)

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

halo 4 is confirmed on 360.....

But not necessarily just the 360.

Seems very likely IMO - Crytek need a publisher and are already working with Microsoft on Ryse.

Plus they'd replicate the advantage they had with UE3 this gen, with Cryengine being more attuned to their hardware for superior performance.
