Forums - Sony - playstation 3 display help?

Play around with this for a while: http://samsungplasmatvfaq.com/index.php/Display_settings

I'll see if I can dig up some extra info for you.

Edit: Could you tell me the model number of your TV? Also, under detailed settings, is Edge Enhancement on?

thanks ive tried them and it doesn't seem to do much :(

Ok: Contrast does not do the same on your TV as it did on my last one: you can just turn it up until exactly the point where you can see detail in white objects.

Sharpness, if you have that option, DOES do what I said, and if you have it, it should be set to OFF. If the the picture starts to lock "soft" on the edges (test by looking at text or the frame of a HUD or something like that), you can turn it up until it looks sharp again.

Same goes for Edge Enhancement, [off], if that's an option.

If you don't have these options, I'm not sure what can be done. Does this happen only on games, or does DVD/Blu-ray exhibit the same problem?

Edit: Double post.

ok my sharpness is on 2 out of 100 and my contrast is on 85 but still there and my blu ray is perfect nothing bad about that actually la noire is the only game im seeing to have this problem

Then I guess it's the game, and nothing to be done with.

I guess you could google it and see if anyone else is complaning about the same thing?

Look

Many games are going to have jaggys in the shadows, it is an artifact of the lighting they implement. If the jaggys seem extreme, then go into your PS3 display settings and try resetting your connection by selecting Video Output Settings and run the set up again

You saw the improvement of the picture quality with the settings I originally gave you. I also gave you specific instruction on how to lighten the picture from there. So believe whoever you want, I know exactly what your picture looks like with the advice some the experts here gave you. Look with your eyes.

i am really having a hard time now im on la noire and when im looking at billboards or houses there just jaggy my sharpness is at 0 my picture looks great i love it but JAGGIES ARE GUNNA KILL ME my tv cost $1200 dollers it shouldn't be like this the guy at the shop said it was the best tv you could get i used to have an 50 inch plasma lg but that was just horrible beyond belief so i got another 1 and its worse :'(

is it ONLY LA Noire?.. hmh, try it at a friend's tv, with YOUR PS3., when you do and it keeps happening, its the game.

I've played Noire (borrowed it from a friend, but it wasnt my kind o' Game..), and i had no probs at all. (But ive just played like 2 hours.)..

If everything else fails, reinstall the Installation-Data, even if i doubt it helps.. ^^

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

it is only on la noire :( and its not that much but when u look into the distance its quite noticable i tried it on my 32 inch hd lcd tv with clear as pie picture for my xbox games and its worse on that :O maybe its just the game im playing assasins creed brotherhood and infamous 2 switching through them and its not a problem at all :3
