Forums - Gaming - Looking ahead to E3 2012

With E3 2011 in the books, I think it is time for a prediction for next year.

People, E3 2012 is a year away, so take these predictions with a truckload of salt.

Sony

-At E3 2012, I expect that Sony will continue to be Sony. They will probably announce some PSV bundle to increase the sales, and talk about how the PSV is better then the 3DS. I would expect some kick-ass 3rd party titles, and a few first party gems. The PSV will also receive a console -scale game that nobody expected (Monster Hunter, or Final Fantasy, or something like that). The PS3 on the other hand will probably see a price drop (if it doesn't get dropped beforehand), and we may get a vague teaser of the PS4. There will be a surprise at the end of the show for the PS3.

Games expected include: The Last Guardian (if isn't out yet), MGS PSV, Call of Duty PSV, Gran Turismo PSV, and the usual PS3 exclusives

Nintendo

-At, E3 2012, the WiiU will be the star of the show in a similar fashion that the Wii was in 06.  Several 1st and 3rd party games will be shown for it, and we will finally see the final design for it. They will go into farther detail about the specs, and how the WiiU will attract hardcore gamers. The 3DS will have an average showing with the announcement of 1-2 first party titles.

Games expected include: Super Smash Bros 3DS/WiiU, Pikmin 3, at least one "Mii" game, and one 3rd party exclusive.

Microsoft

-Microsoft will once again, try to Kinect the core. They will open up with the latest COD game (as usual), and show multiplats that support Kinect. After that, they will announce a new IP developed by a famed developer that appeals to hardcore gamers, and uses Kinect. The entire conference won't be dedicated to Kinect, they will show a 1st party core game (no clue as to what it may be). One last thing they will announce is that something will be added to Xbox live.

Games expected include: Call of Duty 9, at leaset 1 casual Kinect game, and at least 2 core 360 games.

3rd Parties

-3rd parties will go full force with the PSV and WiiU. Many games will be showcased for them. Wii support will end altogether, and the PS3 will be the lead platform for a few more developers. EA will show SSX, the next NFS game, and  have plenty of support for the WiiU. Ubisoft will show crappy launch titles, for the WiiU, several games for the PSv, and at least 1 Kinect game. Activision will unimpress us with the next Call of Duty. Capcom and Konami will show the usual stuff, and MGS PSV respectively. Valve will show SOMETHING. They will not be a no-show.

Games expected- SSX, Call of Duty:?, a Valve game, Assassin's Creed WiiU

Around the Network

Good prediction, though I'd say CoD PSV won't be a part of it because I think MS has Activision on lock down when it comes to E3 conferences.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Realistically, Wii and DS support will probably not really die for several years; although the games they do get will probably not impress anyone.
