One of Shinobi's latest comments hints at Gravity Rush 2 not being a PS4+ vita title....which to me is a clear sign that it's a ps4 only game now. Fuck this company....
ps: I see a lot of people who only own the ps4 say that it being on the ps4 alone makes sense financially..imho I think it's not that well thought out of an argument.
IF this is a ps4 only game then the production/development costs will be much higher. Hence the amount it needs to sell will be much higher in order to be profitable. Now the ps4 is still dead in JP. It's not gonna do much for GR2 there. In the west I see GR2 in the same vein as I see games like W101. Enjoyable to the faithful but no one else gives a shit. IF sony actually raise awareness through marketing then that is also additional costs added. Just because a game is on a bigger install base doesn't mean it's gonna do well sales wise...if not we wouldn't have mega bombas like rain and Puppetteer either

Gravity Rush isn't going to do well in Japan even if it was on the Vita. Supposing the game gets switched to PS4 they might try to go for a heavier push globally. Other thing to consider too, is that Gravity Rush's style is very simple. They can keep the same technical quality of the title and just add a bit more oomf with the PS4's extra hardware and it will look amazing. Kinda like what Nintendo does with Mario. Ultimately the title isn't in a good position. Vita gets unwarranted hate outside of Japan. Even at a way lower budget the game's not gonna turn a profit. If the game's sales were guaranteed in Japan like let's say God Eater, then there's justification for the title on Vita. That's not going to be the case. I'm actually more saddened cause I have a feeling this is going to be the last Gravity Rush regardless of platform

I get your point, Sony is putting all their faith on the PS4 which may not be always a good option, not all games are going to sell well there. That's true. But clearly Sony don't know how to market PS Vita, and that's the main problem of the system. I could say, Sony should keep trying with Vita, but they clearly don't understand the handheld market, heck they don't even have a clue on how they managed to sell 80+ million PSP's. And they realise that, that's why they are focusing all their power on PS4... even in Japan! They are ditching PS Vita even in Japan now!! I'm shocked that they are stupid enough to do that, but who can make understand that to Sony.

I disagree, Sony did all they could with the Vita. I was even arguing with a clerk who works at the store where I get my games. His first hit against the Vita was "There's no good games". My counter was that the 3DS doesn't have any good games either (Which he agrees) and there are good games for Vita. We broke it down and we came to the conclusion that Sony put heavy hitters on the Vita (Whether they were good games or not is a different story). It's just that no one's buying and there's no logical reason. Asassin's Creed, Uncharted, Call of Duty, PSX games, huge PSP library, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, etc, etc. Between marketing and games, Sony probably invested at least half a billion dollars on the Vita, if not more. I don't believe they saw a dime back for any of it. Should Sony pump a billion more to have nothing in return? They can put GTA 6 exclusively on the Vita and I guarantee it won't push hardware.
