A flop, but classy.

If you intent to buy blazblue to play and figth online, you should buy Blazblue Chronophantasma better, which is the newest entry of the series. But if YOU are interested on the whole Story (which actually is pretty GREAT!) and haven't played BB before or nor the story mode, Continum Shift is a good choice as include a resume of the first chapter (Calamity trigger) and a extended version of Continum Shift story, and then You can jump to BBCP. And if you want the whole Calamity trigger story (the fun endings are great, specially Tager's XD) You can buy the PSP version which is good for 10$.
Justly these days I have been playing the Story mode on CSEx, compelting the whole story on vita (I finished the true ending on PS3 before) and playing the new stories for the DLC characters...

BlazBlue is probably the best single player fighting game (franchise) in existence. I impulse bought it when I saw it at a local store for 18€ even though I'm not much of a fighting game nut, but I definitely haven't regretted my decision. The story gets a bit to serious for my taste (and I wasn't really able to understand whats going on sometimes), but the gag reels made more than up for that. At times, I was bursting in laughter, and I really love when games get me to do that. The amount of story content is amazing, and even though I have never played a single multiplayer match, I enjoyed the hell out of the game. Well worth it's money.
Oh, btw: Is it just me or is Calamity Trigger harder than Continuum Shift (Extend)? I have more of a problem playing through story mode due to my general suckage at fighting games and feel like I had an easier time with CS. Might be thanks to the differences between Vita and DualShock 3 controls, though.
Can't wait to buy Chronophantasma, though I think that's digital only in Europe, so I'll have to see when I will get to import it.

You're starting to learn Ka-Pi!
Famitsu seem to be rather harsh (by their standards) lately though...

They certainly have been a little tougher lately, it should help them to improve their image of handing way too many high scores :D
Hey guys, listen to this news....
http://www.siliconera.com/2014/07/29/freedom-wars-tops-35000-download-sales-japan/
Despite being plagued with a few balance problems, Freedom Wars, which was promptly patched up by Sony Computer Entertainment, is doing quite well with 35,000 download copies sold, according to this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]
freedom-wars_140729
According to the magazine report, Freedom Wars has reached 35,000 downloads in a little less than a month since its release.
[Ishaan's note: This is in addition to the game's retail sales, which were at 262,427 copies as of last week. That brings total sales to around 300,000 copies.]
The game’s first major update, that brings an online infrastructure mode with voice chat, a new Enemy Territory Invasion feature, character rankings, and more, will go live sometime in the near future in Japan.

wow that's some impressive numbers for FW. Hopefully Sony Japan won't be jackasses like SCEA and actually support the system with new major game announcements at TGS this year as well

Well, BBCT story mode is harder (I had a lot figths that had to repeat) but bassically BBCS is easier because have better fighting mechanics, BBCT was more technical and harder to learn, to the point that when BBCS released BBCT seemed more like a early beta, then there were some other updates BBCSII (arcades only, via update for consoles) and BBCSExtend (which is more a complete edition with DLCs and the demanded story setting for Makoto, Valkeheim and Trinity, plus Relius Clover and a couple of extra events) with futher improvements on mechanics (actually You can change the System Version on Settings anytime and the compare each character reballancing, changes include the combo missions). The other point that sucked on BBCT was the conditions to get true endings and sometimes to get 100% (You need to loses a every point to get all 100% on each character story, plus some special conditions to get some true endings and even some fun endings, so much that without a guide is almost impossible to get 100% on BBCT story mode, actually i didn't get it all).
About the dense story, yep, is very dense and tangled, specially BBCT which is just a brief of everything on the world, I recomend to watch Teach me, miss litchi gags to get a hold of the universe of the game (these are available on BBCT and BBCS) and understand all the words uniques to this universe... but if You want a brief resume tell me XD
I'm waiting to get my hands on BBCP soon, that and Xblaze Code Embryo too, which is set hundreds years before BB events on the same universe...... BTW Where did You play CS and where are you playing Calamity trigger?
Freedow Wars digital sales are very good (around 13%), which this game will have some healthy legs.

one can dream.
I am very suprised by those digital numbers. That is a LOT in comparison to the retail sales. Vita really seems to be doing well in the digital space. I really wish indie sales numbers were tracked.
