Wow, is this seriously the game one of the Simple Series games is being "built on"? This looks like it could be quite epic :D

Here's your Vita GTA folks ;p

Wow. That was surprisingly cool. I wasn't expecting him to get out and jack another vehicle.

The EDF looking UI makes my heart go pitter-patter.

That driving game could be awesome, I miss the low budget Japanese street racing games of the late 90s/early 00s.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer?

Tokyo Xtreme Racer (or Highway Challenge as it was on Dreamcast here) was epic. I lost so many hours on that game. Completed it 5 or 6 times. Such amazing atmosphere. The visuals were stunning for the time as well, such highly detailed car models, decent lighting effects some cool headlight blur all at 60fps :D also cheesy J-Pop tunes which blatently ripped Initial D off (I'm not complaining!)

There were also the games like Battle Gear, Kaido Racer or whatever it was called etc. Man I'd love anything like that on Vita. Along with the other more offbeat non sim racers of the day like Micro Machines.

Such glorious times before games had to have 5000 cars, ultra realistic graphics, infinite course combinations and a 30 hour story driven campaign mode to be considered worth buying :(

I´ve played Kaido Racer 2 and Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift (US version) for PS2 and I liked them a lot, racing through mountain passes like in Initial D (also a fan of it) :D.

Also played a bit of the Dreamcast game, although I prefer the Drift series, I like going sideways xD. A Vita game would certainly be very welcome.

Bandai Namco's website dated One Piece Unlimited World Red for July 2014. Much much sooner than I expected.
Seems that the retail box is available only at Gamestop/EB Games.

Sorry no link, I haven't figured out how to do it from my phone in the past two years, it' s definitely not hapoening today.

Freedom Wars is up at Amazon. Only $29.99, cheap! Looks like the US box art is the same as the Japanese version, which is nice.

pretty cheap... probably the final price.. Amazon allways put full release price to their place holders...

And for once we get a nice Artcover...

I placed my preorder and kept the price in check.

Drifting is epic! but the reason I loved the original DC one (there was a PS1 game first but it was awful so I don't count it :D) was the setting, and cruising around the highway looking for rivals you haven't already hammered. Was also a very nice upgrade system for your car so rivals you couldn't touch earlier on suddenly you finally had a fighting shot at.

And did I mention those 60fps graphics? XD Seriously at the time, I was so blown away by the game. I wish PS4 had this impact.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Was it in this thread that we were talking about the Simple series recently?  Hmm.

Anyway, I loved the ones I played.  EDF/Onechanbara are excellent (so excellent they became fully fledged sequels) and I enjoyed Metropolismania & Project Minerva Professional.

I also didn't realise Tokyo Xtreme Racer was a Simple series game.  I played one of those on PS2 and it was awesome.

Also

I got a surprise cheque today that I wasn't expecting.  And it's going on Vita games!

My Sword Art Online pre-order can now stay (I was thinking of cancelling it because I couldn't afford it) and I may even pick up Demon Gaze when it launches.  Though I want to finish Atelier first.

Nice find and good to know the game will be available boxed and have a nice price tag.

Sadly, we never got Project Minerva here, but I did watch a Let's Play of it and it looked rather interesting and completely hysterical. I really hope the new Simple series brings the craziness like that and Zombie Virus, and not only mahjong games.
