No. Your spirits will have crap stats because they hate you, not because of anything like that. But you do get a bonus from merging the same type (like, the exact same type) so do that if you can.

I was wondering that when I saw Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts as top 10 greatest Lol, the only Banjo game I could never expect to be in a top 10 list lol
