I certainly don't think that U13 is a bad game. I just played game from the same egine that had more dev time and optimization first.  Kinda like playing P4 before you play P3.  It just makes the older one less impressive cause you saw them pull more and newer, bolder more refined tricks on the same principals already.

When looking at how many of the FX, particles, AA and lighting are rendered I think all the big IP shooters on the platform share this engine.

Killzone & Unit 13 do not use the same engine.  Merc uses Killzone 3's engine which was ported to Vita specifically by Guerrilla.  I have no idea what engine Unit 13 uses, but it's Killzone 3's.

Okay, SteamWorld Dig is Crossbuy for sure.

And if you have "Escape Plan" but not the DLCs, you should check the PS Store. I could download the "Escape Plan Collection" for free on the Vita and all DLCs (Bakuki's Lair, The Asylum, The Underground, The Director's Cut) work fine.

On PS4, that didn't work at first. But after downloading all DLCs seperately (again for free), the €19.99 button of the "Escape Plan Collection" also was replaced by a start button.

Then maybe they just use similar FX, UI elements and placement, pixelated shining lights and shadows.  It certainly feels just like playing KZM minus the gritty scifi filter. It just needs a hacking minigame and motion controls to be complete.

I really wish they worked a bit more on SAO for graphics. It's pretty much the PSP game with higher resolution and a little antialiasing.

The combat system itself is improved at least though, because the PSP game was terrible.

They've changed the combat to at least somewhat resemble the anime now though, right?

It does very much look like an upscaled PSP game, but I don't really mind.  PSP-level graphics are still more than functional for me.

I think the environments look good. The characters models are definitely lacking. I don't mind for an anime game though.

Unit13 and a lot of PSVita and PS3 exclusive and minor third aprty games uses Phyre Engine.. Atelier games.. inFAMOUS, Sly Cooper 4,  Ratchet & Clank, resistance2 and 3uses that Engine... but that engine was developed by a internal team to make easier to work on PS3 and port games between PlayStation platforms (PSP and PS4 included).. and a lot of rutines and algorythm were made by other frist party studios like Santa Monica, Liverpool, naughty Dog, guerrilla, SanDiego, etc... PhyreEngine is a big collaboration between all f them put together by Sony XDEV... so that's why share some similar "effects" and things...

Guerrilla and ND works their own engines, but share knowledge with others and XDEV team.

I can tell you flat out that those games do not use Phyre Engine.  They use Insomniac's proprietary engine.

I think the japanese version also has a mix of english/japanese menus, the game changer is the english subtitles in the chinese version if true. Hopefully play-asia has some info on that soon.

I think Singapore is part of Playstation asia region, so if your account is Asian then US PSN code won't work. You can back up your vita on pc, create a US account and download/play the game if you want, then restore it after your done with X-2

check https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com , log in, Go to Account -> Account Details. At the bottom it will specify your location region to be sure whats your current psn region. Also the same above link can be used to create a new account if you want.
