Agreed that the system is becoming very attractive with all these localizations.  Let me ask you, if I buy physical as much as possible how quickly will I run into storage issues on a 8gb memory card?

Depends what you're interested in and where you live.

Since you mentioned localizations, I presume you're interested in Japanese stuff.  If you live in USA you'll be fine - pretty much everything has gotten a physical release and there will only be minor installs for a few games.

(Even if you live in Europe, I suppose, you can import physical copies).

If you intend to get any PSP or PS1 games, you're out of luck, I'd imagine 8GB will fill pretty fast.  Stuff like Dissidia; Persona 3; Final Fantasy VII-IX are all more than 1GB each.

Also, there's a few localizations which are going to be download-only in every region.  Miku; Monster Monpiece, the Atelier games; EDF 2017 etc.  Also the X-2 part of FFX HD is download only.  I know the Atelier games and FFX-2 are pushing 3GB each.

However, if you can juggle with PS3 (I hate doing this because transfers are so slow), then you should be alright for any amount of time.

Thank you. Yes, I live in NA and really like JP games.  My main issue with the Vita is the memory cards.  if I could buy cheap SD cards and swap them around would already own one.  PS3 transfer would be a real pain as have no internet at home so have to take them both somewhere.

Still in wait and see mode, but Vita looks like becoming a system I want in 2014/2015.

Is it that good ?

I had more fun than I should have had with ...Insect Armageddon was the name if I remember correctly...and always wanted to try 2017 ( which was 360 exclusive :/ )

....did it come to plus already ?

Jeez... it is so much better than Insect Armageddon, I can't even put it into words. IA was terribly executed in so many ways, and the fact that it managed to be a pretty fun game in spite of that is a testament to the strength of the core idea of shooting lots and lots of shit. EDF 2017, meanwhile, is the real deal: an interactive B-movie, a modern day Contra, and a joyful, life-affirming experience. (I am only somewhat exaggerating here.)

And no, I don't believe it has been on PS+ yet.

I think it's safe to say 2014 is the year of localization for Vita. And that means a lot more than "year of Luigi" did.

Well, not just Vita, but this is the Vita thread! And Vita's getting a lot of love.

I'm like you when it comes to buying physical, but if you want to pick up everything you may want to stretch to 16GB -  some of the games you might like such as the Atelier series are quite big (Totori is nearly 3GB), but 8 would be fine with some juggling on your PS3 or PC, especially if you only play one or two games at at time.

I personally haven't bought anything digital yet (need to get round to it though) so I've still actually manage to survive for the moment on my 4GB card, but for flexibility's sake I wouldn't recommend it :)

I love the art style. It looks like a more somber affair in the vein of Wizardry or The Dark Spire than the anime themed dungeon RPGs we've been getting lately. I will be devastated if no western publisher picks this up. /wrists

I was going to say that everyone should be picking up Demon Gaze to ensure this, but I actually don't think this title would fit very well with NISA's niche.  They tend to like their exaggerated anime games more than anything else.

Looks good, though.

But that isn't really true. They've put some stuff that you kinda wonder about. I do think Xseed will get it first largely because NISA already has their hands full atm.

Man, first you sold me on Lone Survivor and now on EDF 2017 .

Cool, I've been looking at EDF for a while now. Do you own any of the console versions? How much of a downgrade is it on Vita rather than PS360?

Sweet. Now I can die happy.

Not at all, actually. 2017 came out pretty early in the 360's life, so it wasn't really much more than a very slightly souped up PS2 game with a terrible framerate to begin with and it looks pretty much the same on the Vita as far as I can tell. More importantly, it has a few extra missions, a second playable character (who can fly!), and a 4-player online mode that is a blast.
