Sony’s Shahid Ahmad Proud of Having Bet his Career on PS Vita: ” Just Getting Warmed Up”

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad is one of the men behind the recent large influx of games – especially indie – to the PS Vita, and turns out that he’s rightfully quite happy about that accomplishment, as he mentioned today on Twitter:

If I retire today, I’d look back at these last two years with enormous pride and satisfaction. Except I’m just getting warmed up.

I feel like I’ve literally just started in the most exciting industry in the world and I’m so enormously excited, grateful and blessed.

I proudly hung my career hat on Vita when it wasn’t cool to do so. I’m feeling pretty pleased with that decision now.

What can I say. Everybody needs a place to call their own. The Vita is mine.

As an added bonus, Ahmad also mentioned that Hopoo Games’s action platformer Risk of Rainwill soon land on Sony’s portable:

So there you go. Looks like Risk of Rain will be coming to Vita. : )

And that’s not all, he also brought up Free Lives’ Broforce. At the moment of this writing the tweet has 47 retweets, so it might actually happen:

Now I’m just asking, just checking, but just want to know how many of you wanna see Broforce on Vita? >100 RTs and I’ll work on it. ; )

Considering Ahmad’s dedication to making the PS Vita’s games library as lively and varied as possible, it’s not surprising that he’s proud of all he’s done so far. And since he’s “just getting warmed up,” I’m quite curious to see what he’ll manage to accomplish once he’s warm.

Shahid has not yet begun to fight pimp games that came out on Steam six months ago.

I'm kinda thinking NISA will pick this up as their next core series.  They used to run Atelier / Ar Tonelico / Disgaea, then they added Neptunia in 2011 or whenever it was.  They lost Atelier & Ar Tonelico when TK bought Gust, so it would probably help them to have another reliable series up their sleeves (and it seems like there are at least 2 more DR games coming).

two things I found out today that might interest you: VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 3 translated in english and also SOL TRIGGER that looks cool too! (need CFW on psp or maybe works with vita with VHBL) and for Final fantasy type zero, someone translated the menus in english, only that and only on UMD 2.

I don't think they ever announced that big RPG Shahid was teasing. I guess we'll see it at E3.

Oh I already saw it my dreams. It was a full fledged remake of Dragon Quest VIII with online multiplayer. Then I woke up and realized it was coming to mobile instead.

He has been teasing a big game for a while that he said he could talk about at the end of feb/early march. He also confirmed that FF type 0 isnt coming nor valkyria. So... from the teases ofthe big game, wich will give u hours of play a day and is a AAA title... im inclined to believe its PSO2. As for jrpg, i just hope they managed to convince namco to let them work on the tales games. I honestly dont know what else they could do.
