anywho after Toukiden I suddenly got an urge to play some more hunting games so I redownloaded Godeater.....but the visuals just hurt my eyes now! Vita is such an upgrade hardware wise. The lack of camera control on the second analog stick is really hard to deal with too. I hope they announce GE2 localization..will definitely buy it


You can set the camera to the 2nd analog stick. Its not perfect but it works. Just set the directional buttons to the second analog.

I would expect you to know how to do it, but i think they changed it recently. It used to be pressing the screen for a while so you can set it. Now i think you keep pressing the PS button.

 

Also, it looks like Capcom is planning to bring Monster Hunter Frontier G to the west, including Vita:

Sucker punch are right now finishing infamous 3=work on a new project will start soon=hiring people for a new project is a common thing right now.(btw-even if they start now to code for vita it'll take 18-24 month till release+ Sony won't let their first party studio that may create infamous 4 with guaranteed 2mio+ sales on ps4 expose to the risk to code a ps vita game with potential 200-300k sales)

 

If there is a vita infamous you can be 100% sure it won't be coded by a sony top studio but by an XDEV team like sansaru games.

(if sony is smart they'll ask Rockstar to implement some ps vita gimmicks for gta5 ps4 version)

Honestly haven't played many (maybe 1-2 max) psp games on the vita so far..haven't changed the controls once so this would be the first time :D

@sxyxs: I'm thinking a infamous FOB type of game for vita, with a bit more depth. THey put that one out real fast after the release of infamous 2. Could be that they have already done some of the ground work for the vita game too

Thank you to all our fans for your feedback and opinion, both pros and cons, regarding the censorship of Monster Monpiece. First of all, please allow me to clarify that Idea Factory International is fundamentally against censorship and we will never censor a title purely as a strategy to increase sales.
It is our policy as well as our priority that our localizations stay true to the original creativity and vision of the developers in order to meet our fans’ expectations for the original Japanese games.

In the past years, Idea Factory has licensed out all of its titles to third party publishers for the western markets. The Monster Monpiece license was also offered to third party publishers but none were interested in acquiring the license. The main reasons cited were that the title was too “hard-core” and “niche”, making it extremely difficult to forecast enough sales to make this a profitable title for the western markets. In addition there was significant concern that some of the images of the Monster Girls would be inappropriate and unacceptable for release in these markets.

Despite these concerns, because we received so many requests from our fans and because Idea Factory International was established in the US for the main purpose of nurturing the IF fan communities outside of Japan, we made the decision to do our best to bring Monster Monpiece to our fans in these markets.

That being said, as a Company that would like to remain relevant and viable for the long term in these markets, we believed it was necessary to make some minimum modifications in order for the product to be suitable/acceptable for publishing, giving the title the best chance to get to market while still staying as true to the original game as possible. Please be assured that we did our utmost to make sure that the modifications/censoring we determined necessary for Monster Monpiece were at the absolute minimum. We have paid meticulous attention to which images to replace/modify so as not to affect the gameplay and game system itself.

Idea Factory International intends to focus its ongoing licensing and publishing activities primarily on titles that will appeal to the most hard-core gamers within the JRPG niche of the North American and European game markets. As such, this first title, Monster Monpiece, is an important test case for us and the final results will weigh significantly towards our decisions regarding future titles for these markets.

We decided to release Monster Monpiece in these markets because we wanted to make our fans happy. However, if those same fans find that the modifications we felt we had to make have made the localized version of the game completely unacceptable, perhaps it was not the right decision to try to localize and publish this title for these markets.  Perhaps it would be in the best interest of both our fans and our Company to publish only those titles that will not require any censoring or modification.

To conclude, I believe that with regard to Monster Monpiece we have made the best possible decision, taking into consideration both our customers’ satisfaction as well as our corporate ethical responsibilities to adhere to all local legal requirements. However, we welcome continued feedback from our fans both before and after the release of the game.  We value everyone’s opinion and will take it all under consideration when planning for our future titles.

I'm actually with IF on this one.  Between the whole ordeal with dual audio for Atelier Ayesha (and upcoming ordeal for Conception 2); to NISA's censoring of Mugen Souls; to the censoring of Monster Monpiece and witnessing some really weird arguments the past few days while I've been spending time on NISA's forums (people complaining that translated Japanese names don't have enough vowels in them), I'm shocked at how entitled the niche community in the west acts.

I mean yes, I get that certain people want to receive these games in absolutely the same form as the Japanese verison except language.  And I kind of understand arguments about say, dual audio, because it's something a lot of people like and there's possibly some retribution there because TK put it back in, showing it wasn't possible and was just a decision.

But some stuff just has to be changed to make it viable.  I always view this stuff as "well at least someone is picking it up and we're getting the game at all".  But so many people seem to prefer not having the game at all then having it in a changed form; and that to me is just bonkers.

I'm surprisingly enjoying Malicious Rebirth. At first, I was playing without understanding anything about controls/aura/weapons/costumes etc... but after my second boss fight, the game kinda clicked and I realized I can change weapons lol and understood the controls.

It's like a dynasty warriors arena (dozens of minions) with a hunting game type boss on the battlefield If this game had a better initial tutorial and more challenging bosses (I've beaten 4 so far and they were kinda easy), it would have been a great PSN game.

I agree 100%. We should be happy that we get any of these games in the first place.

You know, I haven't been into gaming for too long (well, I started with a GBA in 2004 and a GameCube in 2005, but I haven't really been buying games myself until 2010/11 and it was around that time that I started to aqcuire a distinct "taste" in gaming), but I recently got into "retro" consoles or generally video game collecting (heck, I've bought about 6 individual gaming platforms in the last 6 Months, 4 of them in the last 2 weeks) and it was there and then that I realized how utterly terrible it must have been for 90s/early 2000s gamers to get to play any Japanese games at all (especially in Europe, of course). Only (more or less) recently we got a group of companies showing up and getting those games to us westeners, and I think it's a shame that so many people complain about the smallest changes in localization. Most of the time these people don't even seem to understand what the term localization really means.

Complaining about game-breaking bugs (as has happened with Disgaea D2 or the European version of SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked)? Sure. Complaining about some small censorship related changes (one picture getting censored in the NA version of FE Awakening and one text bit in the European one, for example)? Stupid. The only thing that trumps that in stupidity (in my opinion) is complaining about text being "inaccurately" translated (which, in most cases, really isn't true, but rather part of a localizational change).

I've come to greatly appreciate these companies and there efforts to release these games in the west, and I am absolutely ready to make small sacrafices in order to be able to play these games. Everyone who isn't should try going back to the era of Super Nintendo and Sega Saturn (or heck, in Europe's case even PlayStation 2). That would probably show them how glad we can be to get all these games.

We all should be happy that we can play and understand these games in the first place, but instead people are bitching about the smallest issues. And thing is, this sort of behaviour is especially rampant in the niche community, which only makes things worse.

Today I spent hours and hours playing DC Universe Online on the Vita through Remote Play, and it was fricking awesome. I'm amazed how perfectly PS4 games "run" on the Vita.
