Everything you list that they did, was in 1 year. while the console was not at a mass market price. If they'd carried on into year 2 like that, they'd have had much more momentum. But they decided after that first holiday that they weren't really that fussed anymore and Western support dropped off a cliff while the console was nearly double the price of it's rival and still way above a mass market price.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Alright guys, serious question here, what did/do you want Sony to do? The games are there. The marketing "was" there. What more do you want from them? They released most of their franchises on the Vita minus God of War and GT, with God of War needing a hiatus period. They managed to get two of gaming's hottest franchises in Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty on the platform (Though Declassified being a shit game is all on Activision's head). The PSPs biggest success came from Capcom and Capcom is very finicky in who they want out of gaming (Nintendo one day, Sony another). The only franchise Sony needs to try and court is GTA, but I'm sure Rockstar is done with portables period.

Another thing to mention, things aren't exactly rosey for the 3DS either. Nintendo essentially threw everything they had at the 3DS, managed to pay off Monster Hunter, and yet it may or may not pass GBA's lifetime sales. And realistically, the 3DS is only selling alright squarely on children and Monster Hunter. The dedicated game handheld market is shrinking at a huge rate and I don't even think the 3DS' successor will survive. So other than throwing billions of dollars at third parties, and god knows they spent enough on them with regards to the Vita, what do you want them to do? It's not like any of the third parties have seen good sales out of their titles (They've seen alright, but it's obviously not enough outside of japan).

God of War Ascension and GT6 (they could have called it something else) should have been psvita titles. They should have put more pressure on their first party studios to make vita titles. Aren't they working for them anyway, as in they are their employees? They should have given incentives to big 3rd parties to port some of their big games (Agito/type-0, Monster Hunter Frontier, even a smaller version of FF 13) to the vita. They could have paid Namco for a Tekken. So many missed opportunities. All the vita needed was SOME hype; all it got was Gravity Rush and Uncharted. After that, no matter how cool Tearaway was, it couldn't change people's minds.

So basically Sony's Western support of the console has been half arsed since launch.

Actually, I think they went extreme on both ends here. Sony went full blast western during launch. Now that the big westerm support seems to have dried up (aside from indies) they are changing their stance and are going all out with a strategy targeting the Japanese fanbase, leaving the English speaking market to wait and hope for something.

Conception II coming to Europe (PSN only)

WTF is that? I'm open minded but conception? WTF?! As in, babies? lol! And here I thought that I'd never see something more crazy than Mr. Mosquito...but here we are... damn...

it's not actual babies since they're tiny humanoids formed out of some rock? (there's a name for it) and there's no sex (although there's plenty of innuendos)

Squeezol's Fanclub Member? is that how it works?

Just a little bit better handly is too much to ask for? Just the small stuff will do at this point. Why release the psvita slim version with not much difference in the tec and price compared with the older version. Why not offer colours, why not do bundles for NA not just exclusive Amazon crap(good bundle) but no retailer presense espeacially at the holiday period?

More importantly for us the gamers keep to your promises or dont give us a faults sense of upcoming satisfaction. Like the exclusive Bioshock game, the upcomig AAA game that will be announced soon, that @JRPG announcement, Gio's list (which is ridiculous by the way since where waiting for a freaking fan favourite list not an announcement or anything) and something about Borderlands 2.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

It has been so thoroughly mismanaged that there is nothing they can do now. At this point the Vita is what it is. Just like I've tried to tell Nintendo fans about the Wii U, a system's fate is determined long before it is ever released and if third parties aren't there before launch, they're not going to magically show up afterward.

But I really don't understand the argument that "the games are there". Lazily porting over a few B-tier PS3 games is not good support, and these are Sony's own efforts. If their faith in their own system was so little, they should not have been as surprised by third parties' disinterest as they claim to have been.

I guess, not having any well known Japanese publisher localizing their games on the Vita is hurting our confidence with Sony. I have explained this before on another thread, they need to get those popular Japanese games with a considerable western market/fanbase localized to shore up confidence in their Vita strategy, as long as gamers don't see any progress with the #JRPGVITA, confidence in the Vita will continue to deteriorate. We get it, that western devs aren't big handheld supporters but the Japanese devs are, so not seeing games like Type-0, Tales Of, GE2 localized hurts the Vita's image.

The 3DS may not be rosey as well but Ninty is getting the well known Japanese games on the 3DS localized. Project X Zone, Bravely Default and now MH4U. This builds up confidence not only for other devs/pubs but also the fanbase and future customers. Remember, as stated before not everyone who purchase a 3DS is a Ninty fan. So non-Ninty fans are also getting their fix on the 3DS because there is progress, which is what we are currently lacking with the Vita.

So Shahid should control himself and stop giving us too much hope d@mnit!

This is actually the saddest thing about Vita...

Amazing Spiderman, Epic Mickey 2, GOW Collection (AGAIN!!!!)... There's nothing wrong with porting games to Vita, if they actually would port GOOD games. GoW is OK, but for crying outloud how many times are we supposed to play same shit?

Puppeteer was left to die on PS3... Was it so hard or so expensive to make a freaking Vita port.... But nooo, here's Spiderman...

Sony is approaching the Vita all wrong. The games are not the problem anymore.PS Vitas and the memory cards are too expensive. This been Sony problem for years, not making shit affordable. People been complaining about this for years. I strongly believe the PS4 is made by two different companies.
