Alright guys, serious question here, what did/do you want Sony to do? The games are there. The marketing "was" there. What more do you want from them? They released most of their franchises on the Vita minus God of War and GT, with God of War needing a hiatus period. They managed to get two of gaming's hottest franchises in Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty on the platform (Though Declassified being a shit game is all on Activision's head). The PSPs biggest success came from Capcom and Capcom is very finicky in who they want out of gaming (Nintendo one day, Sony another). The only franchise Sony needs to try and court is GTA, but I'm sure Rockstar is done with portables period.

Another thing to mention, things aren't exactly rosey for the 3DS either. Nintendo essentially threw everything they had at the 3DS, managed to pay off Monster Hunter, and yet it may or may not pass GBA's lifetime sales. And realistically, the 3DS is only selling alright squarely on children and Monster Hunter. The dedicated game handheld market is shrinking at a huge rate and I don't even think the 3DS' successor will survive. So other than throwing billions of dollars at third parties, and god knows they spent enough on them with regards to the Vita, what do you want them to do? It's not like any of the third parties have seen good sales out of their titles (They've seen alright, but it's obviously not enough outside of japan).

I guess, not having any well known Japanese publisher localizing their games on the Vita is hurting our confidence with Sony. I have explained this before on another thread, they need to get those popular Japanese games with a considerable western market/fanbase localized to shore up confidence in their Vita strategy, as long as gamers don't see any progress with the #JRPGVITA, confidence in the Vita will continue to deteriorate. We get it, that western devs aren't big handheld supporters but the Japanese devs are, so not seeing games like Type-0, Tales Of, GE2 localized hurts the Vita's image.

The 3DS may not be rosey as well but Ninty is getting the well known Japanese games on the 3DS localized. Project X Zone, Bravely Default and now MH4U. This builds up confidence not only for other devs/pubs but also the fanbase and future customers. Remember, as stated before not everyone who purchase a 3DS is a Ninty fan. So non-Ninty fans are also getting their fix on the 3DS because there is progress, which is what we are currently lacking with the Vita.

So Shahid should control himself and stop giving us too much hope d@mnit!
