I bought it because there were some games that interested me... Gravity Rush at first... and because the probability of ports from PS3, specially fighting games.. I like fighting games on portables.. and until now is all good...

Advantages, well:

-over iOS better games overall and better control (Without a peripherical)...

-over 3DS I could say the control and is easier to hold (some games on 3DS like Kid icarus are HELL for your hands), don't need a peripherical to get a second stick and this VERY important.. and the obvious graphics.

-A lot of jRPG from PSP and exclusives for PSVita coming from Japan, if you love this genre this is your handheld.

-Others things like a variety of apps and such, but nothing that couldn't be added to eShop later (like YT app recently)...

-Another advantage is PLUS, this service is really great, free games, huge disccounts and Cloud saving service... if You go digital, PLUS is a great helper...

 

But it have its disadvantages:

-Like the price of the Memory cards, Sony screwed with this, seriously.

-There's not a lot of western third party supporting it, so if You don't like japanese stuff so much, Vita is not for You. -

-Being almost all games coming from Japan, wedepend on localization to see games, until is all good with some surprises and SONY promised to work to beter this.

-Not variety of colors and design available, not a deal breaker but seriorusly I envy the variety of Vitas on Japan, limited edition and colors... and Nintendo know well that a variety of colors could atract different people, SCEA doesn't -,-

 

If you're thinking to buy a Vita, the Walking Dead bundle comes with a 4gb memory card and the game. On black Friday was at 175$ and with tree digital games more.. Add at least a 8gb MC (20$) or a 16gb (at 40$) and a plus membership and You'll have from the Go some good games to play... this month will be added Sonic Sega Rally and still is Soul Sacriificie, Wipeout2048, uncharted and gravity rush.

Last time someone told me something similar, He ended up changing his 3DS with 21 games for a PSVita and 7 games plus memory card and other things... and rigth now He doesn't want to come back to nintendo's consoles (not just 3DS), rigth now his collection is of 20 games (two of them limited editions) and have played mora than 60 games between exchanges and digital. have a 16gb and a 32gb memory card..

He just posted that images on the Vita Facebook group for Venezuela where We're admins...

 

He said: "name five titles on Vita so I can buy one and play" He said that in a tone of sarcasm, because of the "Vita HAz NO GAEMZ" prejudge that most Nintie haters have (He was one at that time).. this month  He celebrate ONE YEAR With Vita THANKS TO THE GLORY OF UOR GODDESS KAT!! (Hell, I like to say that XD)

I have this strange feeling that you try to become our new sleepy prince.

but let me give you this eye opening answer:There is no game on Wii U that looks better than wipeout2048 and this game simulates anti-grav racing a lot better than f zero.Should at least open one of your eyes!

In case anyone was wondering about FFX/X-2 HD, the Vita version will have a physical copy of FFX and comes with a digital voucher to get X-2 for free.

It's been a while since I've played either game, but I have much fonder memories of X. I'm excited to go through them again. I just need to decide between the Vita or PS3 version, I really wish it had cross-buy so I could get both.

Why i bought a Vita: Wipeout 2048, Ys celceta, Persona 4 golden and possibility for PSO2, the tales games and PS nova if it turns out good.

I got both systems and you are talking trash. 3D no one uses, its only an occasional fun feature. It does not compare to the quality of the vita screen. Im not sure the 3ds has more jrpgs nor that

it has the best. Its neck to neck.

Finally, pokemon and bravely are extremely grindy games, not for everyone.

And for the record, none of the 3ds rpgs come close to the excelence of p4g.

 

So, maybe you should broaden those horizons instead of coming here to pick a fight you will lose.

Ignoring Aviggo's Flamebait, i gotta call something out.

First off, pokemon is a grindy game not for everone? Have you seen the sales of the thing, if 10+million sales for each game is now considered niche, i really don't know what to say to you.

No 3DS rpg comes close to P4G? Have you played Etrian Odyssey? Have you played SMT 4? Have you played Pokemon? Gameplay wise, it absolutely smashes P4G. Persona 4 has amazing characters, great story, and the social link element is amazing, but the gameplay is still bad. You complain about grindy games like Bravely and pokemon and yet you still say how excellent P4G is? You go through a dungeon with the same music, same enemies, same combat, that tends to last 3-4 hours. You need to grind off the golden hands or else your party will get destroyed by the boss stage. The only thing that stops it from being unplayable is the fact that at least the music is nice and changes per dungeon, unlike Persona 3's 250+ floor tower with the same music throughout.

P4G is still an amazing game, but to say nothing on 3DS matches it....i would say you need to broaden those horizons on 3DS games.

Wat. SMT, EO, and Pokemon aren't anywhere near as good as P4G (especially Pokemon, I don't know why that was ever included). I don't see how it smashes it in any department at all. I guess we play the dungeons differently. I cleared each one all in one night and it took 2-3 hours. Never had to grind or level up at any point.

I´m absolutely in the same situation.

I want to play it on the Vita...but want to own the edition with the artbook on the PS3...
