Runa216 said: Okay guys, I need some input....well, mostly just encouragement. right now I'm working on Rayman Origins on the Vita (loving it so far, my god it's gorgeous), but once I'm done I have no idea how long it's going to take my next Vita games to get here. Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Wipeout 2048 are both in the mail, but until then I need to figure out something to play (considering more ModNation or Rayman). I kinda wanted to try Disgaea 3 when it was released on the Vita, but I really didn't want to jump in at the 3rd game so I quickly dismissed it. Anyway, while I was checking out the system's features and the stuff available on the PSN, I came across three Disgaea titles for sale for pretty cheap. I did some research and found that Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness was a remake of the first game in the series and it's only 15 bucks. I read up on it to find it was getting consistently good reviews, and I remember it being known for having a quirky sense of humor. So, I'm wondering if people can recommend it. I know it's a pretty damn long game, and I'm not usually TOO into JRPG's, but Final Fantasy is my favorite series and I've liked a fair share of JRPG's in my time. Plus, I've been told to get it for ages. Should I? Well, mostly I jsut wanna hear who liked it and why, because unless people gimme good reasons not to, I plan on buying it anyway. Encourage me! |
Afternoon of Darkness I loved, first time playing the series and I had a great time. The 2nd one I did not enjoy, just had a dragged out story, annoying characters and somehow felt way more repetitive even though combat was essentially the same as the first one.
ANYWAY, first one is great go play it! It's somewhat similar to FF Tactics, you'll just have to more level grinding with your characters (which is inside item worlds and is actually quite fun). Fun story, funny dialogue, and loved the characters.
Enjoy!
